I was concerned at first…extra money, quality homes at a great price point, music and golf…all reasons we bought there. The added bonus- how nice all the people are! No kidding. I’m so glad you’re enjoying it. Great video.
I work /research/sleep. My wife is so worried I’ll get bored in retirement but I thought no- I want active - and I want sun and that’s pointing to TV - but I do see a REAL problem having spent 3 years online chatting to people. I’m not going to have any time to work out and get fit if I’m going to spend all my time being distracted by all my great neighbours in Chitty Chatty and the surrounding villages. I know my wife has plans on visiting the squares to dance (I promised her once I completed my doctorate I’d take her dancing), and then the cart rides…. So fast (average speed by car/train in London is under 14mph), its going to be like mad max at a race track doing 20mph….(haha - compare that to the autobahn in Germany where the speed limit is your ability to drive safely). I wonder, have we picked the right place to retire or should we have stayed somewhere quieter like a flat on Margate seafront !!!!
Why not take a vacation here? Do a Lifestyle Preview Visit and check it out. During the summer it's $99/night and they throw in a golf cart, 2 bicycles & free golf. Pools, bocce, pickleball, tennis AND music every night on the squares. You are NOT going to be bored.
@@ToRetirementAndBeyond Been there, done that (Nov 19), cost me a fortune for a LOT in Marsh Bend - went back in March 20 and swapped out to Chitty Chatty - But Covid and the closed borders have meant we couldn't see (and still haven't seen) the home that we completed on June 20. Not being allowed to enter the US we rented out our home for 18 months. Still, September isn't far away now and we are really looking forward to reminding ourselves what exactly it was that we sat in a bar one Friday evening back in November 2019 and decided but I do recall it went something along the lines - 'what the hell - let's just go for it - sod the kids' inheritance this is our time.....!!!!
@@ToRetirementAndBeyond 4 suitecases coming out, 1 coming home 😂 and 2 weeks non stop shopping for everything from a bed through to bikes and golf cart, coffee machine to lanai furniture…. You guys seem happy with your move but I got a question for you. Are single people considered outcast in TV meaning married couples are always accepted as friends to hang out with but what about single people are they ignored or seen a threat to a married couple or are we all one happy family. The reason I'm asking is I read the villages-news and there does seem to be a lot of sex offenders & other creeps in TV. And as a single guy at 67 planning to move to TV I'm a bit concerned about how others in my village will see me and if they will just ignore me cause I don't have a spouse.
First: That is a "rag" - and the people that comment there are not the happy smiley people you are going to meet everyday. Second: In a town of aprx 150,000 people you will have some of every kind of person. Third: There are singles groups here you can join - you can be around like minded people if you choose. Fourth: It's up to you to get involved - no one is going to look down on you BECAUSE you're single. In our neighborhood we know of at least a couple of widows - they are fully integrated into the community. All that being said, you will be in the minority. If some couples are going out on the town you would be the fifth wheel - that's why I mentioned the singles groups. My understanding is they are BIG groups and go out doing stuff all the time.

We don't know where the eagles went. They had a nest around the corner in a preserve and then one day they, and their babies, were gone. Yes, you will be bored to tears. Nothing to do. Bummer. HAHAHAHA
