Just remember to be aware of you’re surroundings and cautious and you will have a great time. NYC is a fast paced city with an uptick in crime and crime happens anywhere even in areas like soho, but as long as you’re aware of your surroundings and cautious you’ll be fine. Enjoy 😊

Soho is an amazing neighborhood. I’m still surprised to see so many of my friends think of Soho as only high-end shopping place and expensive bars. It has great architecture, history, and a great place to walk around during the day.

I had an apartment on Houston Street when I was going to the High School of Art and Design in late 70s. Soho was artist lofts, bodegas, bars, murals and graffiti. It was a wonderful place to live. I can't imagine being able to afford it now.

After 4 trips to nyc in the past 4 years we have yet to make it to soho maybe next trip. You name it We have done it lol. We ate and visited about 80% of your choices and follow your videos all year long and take notes of places to eat and visit. We already have a list of our top choices that are repeats. We find ourselves in the village a lot to eat! So many choices for great deals. Fun fact the wife and I were married 9/11 which some say sucks but we use it as not only an anniversary but a day to remember the fallen.

The FDNY Museum is one of my favorite museums in Manhattan. I use to go there after visiting my brother at his work place . SOHO is a decent neighborhood to walk thru. I walked thru it by going up Ave of America's ( 6 Ave ) all the way up to Times Square area. Sometimes to 34 street to MSG for the Rangers. Also walked Across SOHO into Little Italy into Chinatown to get to Grand Street for the B train to get me home to Sheepshead Bay .

There was this art space in Soho called The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art. It lived at 594 Broadway from 2003 - 2012, and focused mostly on comic books, comic strips and other forms of cartoon art. One of my favorite memories as a volunteer there was helping promote the Saturday Morning Cartoons exhibit that came with an actual Smurf village set. My part in the promotion was "befriending" a Smurf character which gave me a whole new perspective on character performers of that kind.

    Soho really changed
I lived in the village back in tbe 90s. I would walk down to Soho quite often.
It was not built up as now -largely Italian.
Area became gentrified as many other areas in NY.
It was more mom and pop stores.
Old style apt buildings and parks.
It became a big shopping area.
    Yes fire museum
So I guess depending if you like this kind of set up you will really like it.
If you don't like this type of thing will not.
There were many loft apartments back in the 90s but due to change in NYC laws many disappeared.
    Lots of galleries
I would highly recommend to check out the older businesses.
    Interesting area
Lastly I lived in 220 Sullivan bet Bleecker/West
    3rd.
    Great video thumbs up.
    Heading to 300K subscribers.
Check out Murray Hill lots of history.

I worked on West Broadway at a jewelry shop around 2009-11. WB has a very different vibe that Broadway, kind of a European type street scene. Ansel Bakery had not yet opened, it was another café we used to go to for lunch and I recall being gutted that they had closed. Great nabe for a summer stroll!

Thanks for bringing attention to the small businesses - they really need to be applauded. I was born in 1940 on Lewis St. and Stanton - Lewis St. is long gone.
