Hey Emily. Another cool video. I long wondered what Salt Spring Island looked like. A former friend of mine moved there a while ago. Apparently, it's quite the artist's/aging hippy haven with many well known personalities, including actress Meg Tilly. Thanks again for taking us along.

Very beautiful. I've never been there, but it looks lovely. Thanks for the video. I have enjoyed Vancouver Island, and many beautiful places in BC. We just got back from Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, and I'm sure you'd love the beautiful fishing villages there. Try the east some day.
Ganges is pronounced Ganges - like the river in India 'gan jeez'. It’s named after one of the British ships that first landed there. Another ferry terminal on the island is called Vesuvius, after HMS Vesuvius. Many of the spots around the gulf islands are named after British ships/ captains/ first officers etc.
It's pronounced Gahn-jay-az
Emily…. How come we didn’t get to see anything from Mount Maxwell? It looks like you were up there on the thumbnail? Best views from up there…on a clear day you can see all the way to Victoria! Ganges is pronounced “Gan-geez” Great video…we haven’t been to Saltspring in a few years now. 😃
Well Emily I must confess. After watching several videos as I sit here in New Zealand locked down. I told my wife about your lovely very informative videos. As we watched a few more together she turned and asked if I subscribed to your posts. Um I said I didn’t know how to do that. Ya ya I get it not up on the socials but learning. You will be hearing more from me in the future. Great job. By the way I am originally from Niagara Falls, Ontario married to a kiwi. Enjoy Mike’s input as well.

SSI is amazing - like stepping back to the 1960s. You drive along and pass a very expensive home and adjacent would be a Hippie Compound. There is not one traffic light on the island. Very narrow roads. The Tree House Cafe is fantastic. We visited off season and thus it was not full of tourists. 2 or 3 days allows plenty of time to see all the sights.
So awesome! Thankyou…oh just wondered where’s a good place to stay? Thinking of 2022 get away with hubby, (retired), formerly from Victoria and this is so laid back still, it’s been 40 yrs.👏😎
A good place in Victoria or Salt Spring? If Victoria I always recommend the Oak Bay Beach Hotel or the Fairmont Empress ☺️ Enjoy your trip!
