I go into every performance of a straight play, no matter the level of theater (off Bway, off off, or Broadway or amateur) with an open mind, knowing there's tremendous talent out there in every level, but Stella really spoils us, when you're an actor yourself, you look for real spontaneity in the acting and it's very rare. When you see good acting too, you wonder is it really good or is it forced and affected? But when it's good, you can't put a finger on what made it good, it's just in the moment and you're immersed.
