T.D. Jakes Interviews Charlamagne Tha God

  • T.D. Jakes had the joy of uniting with Charlamagne Tha God for a terrific discussion of his book, #ShookOne. This conversation could empower you to conquer the inner forces that thwart your growth. Someone you know needs this. Is it you?
    Charlamagne Tha God is cohost of The Breakfast Club, a popular nationally-syndicated radio show where Bishop previously appeared as a guest. He also hosts the podcast Brilliant Idiots and, like T.D. Jakes, is a New York Times bestselling author. Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It was his first book followed by Shook One.
    T.D. Jakes calls Shook One “powerful”, “provocative,” and “transparent.” Its subject matter concentrates on dealing with anxiety, the effects of PTSD, and how mental health issues are often overlooked in today’s culture.
    Charlamagne speaks about his childhood, the environment, and experiences that contributed to his anxiety and panic attacks, and interestingly, he talks about how finally finding success added to his mental health issues rather than easing them. He discusses how fear was a strong motivator, driving him to succeed, yet as soon as he “arrived”, his anxiety became more “overwhelming.”
    T.D. Jakes and Charlamagne discuss how Christians often feel that church should be enough to address mental health issues like anxiety and depression, but there is often not a “sole spiritual antidote” for mental illness. In many cases, professional therapy is necessary to address these issues.
    Charlamagne’s book Shook One is relevant, timely, and honest. Watch the full discussion and be sure to subscribe to the T.D. Jakes channel for more enlightening conversations.

    I’ve been watching Charlamagne for some time now. Watching his growth in interviews, watching as he continues to step further into who he is and who God is calling Him to be, and it’s honestly a beautiful walk to watch because I wholeheartedly believe that it’s about to inspire and transform MANY!!! Just the fact that he’s so mainstream and has been linking with pastors and spiritual leaders is a clear indication of where this man is headed. The black community will remember him for more than what he puts out in breakfast club interviews and this just shows how God can shine a light when we truly follow him, on all of us! Awesome interview 😊

      This is so good and so true! As people are being transformed, especially publicly I do believe that it is significant to see the gem in the process an not automatically doubt. This is so much more helpful and biblical then keeping people down by unhealthy skepticism. No shade. Just have seen a lot in my day and have been all around the world, yet, I truly appreciate this session, their honesty, and the hope that it gives light to.

      Wrong! Friend, you must be Born Again. First and foremost, Charlamagne is a enemy of The ALMIGHTY. This heathen calls himself a god. Also, he is a child of satan (a member of a fraternal order), who hates The True and Living GOD. Not only him, but Jakes is a false teacher (who's also a member of a fraternal order), who deceives the gullible, simple and unlearned (in Sound Doctrine). These people are not of GOD. The Bible states: "Therefore by their fruits you shall know them"... This calls for discernment. And that comes from being Born Again (filled with The HOLY SPIRIT), knowing Sound Doctrine. I'll leave with this stern warning: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to me: seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children"... Woe to the carnal Christians, lukewarm Believers and false converts. The WRATH of GOD is Coming (for you)!!!

      There is no such thing as God being "after" anyone. God didn't go anywhere. I think that the example Bishop Jakes is showing is that this is still your equal. I think church folks is so hell bent on the "display" of Christianity as if there is a blueprint that if you don't look a certain way we assume that they are a certain way. I would reword what you said because it looks like you're saying don't judge, the heart is the only thing that matters, and live your life. Charlamagne may NEVER change. Then what? How about just thank God for this interview because some church folks need to get that they are not suffering from demonic possession but are just depressed and need help :)

    Thanks Charlamagne. Thanks Bishop Jakes. I enjoyed watching your talk. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 1993. But I lived with mental illness in the form of post-partum psychosis beginning in 1987. I used to be so ashamed of the "crazy" stigma associated with mental illness. At times I still feel uncomfortable having to live with "it." But I now accept the fact that it's a chemical imbalance in the brain - an illness - just like any other. Although it took me 9 times to "get it right," I choose to flow with talk and medicinal therapy to help with mental stability. Furthermore, in knowing that "this" is not my eternity, I'm becoming more comfortable in the skin that I live in. Thanks again for the talk gentlemen. I am encouraged to keep flowing. God bless you ---Cyndi.

    OMG!!! Very POWERFUL MUCH NEEDED CONVERSATION! I keep saying this but A CHANGE IS COMING AND ITS TAKING PLACE RIGHT B4 our eyes in regards to mental health in the black community and how we’re dealing with. It’s time that we talk about it. That’s the first step in HEALING. Keep addressing these issues Charlamagne and being the vessel that God put you here to be. Your definitely on to something and moving REAL GODLY. 🙏🏾😊

      @animaljoy123 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TrunxKraft3000 What I took from the interview, was two men on two different levels, willing to understand to overstand. Both men were very transparent. The Bishop didn't judge Charlamagne he gave him a lot of medicine in the form of candy. On the other hand Charlamagne also gave the Bishop a lot of insight as well. In my opinion. Just my opinion , Sunday services should be for healing us spiritually. The rest of the week should focus on , social issues, economic issues, physical exercise and eating habits men and women relations, parenting well rounded children ect The church is a family and everyone in the family has different gifts, imagine if we shared those gifts to benefit the family. That just might teach us not to compete with each other, but maybe just maybe we would learn to work together.
