Great question Eric! Typically I measure height on the CBCT with soft tissue-separation techniques (videos on my youtube channel). Alternatively you can typically estimate 90-95% of the time anterior mandible well healed should be a 2.5-3.0mm cuff height or maxillary will be approx 50% of the time 4.0mm and approx 50% of the time either 3mm or 5mm. You can take a perio probe and bone sound to measure properly with the patient in the chair, although you may need to put some topical prior to doing so!! Hope this helps :)
Excuse me Sir, if I may ask, would you please explain how to select appropriately the most suitable retention caps ( Male locator attachments ) for any given " All on 4 " case ?! Do they need to be replaced on a regular interval basis ? Thank you so much.
