Terry, I think along the same lines as you do on the great caliber debate. I own several 9mm pistols and enjoy shooting them, and carry a Sig P365 in an appendix holster every day, primarily because my job requirements come into play and it must be deeply totally concealed. But as a practical matter, when Im not working, I carry my Glock 30s, which you know is a .45acp. It conceals quite nicely when Im not having to perform job duties. I have Glock 21 .45, and a Glock 22 .40, and I have a Glock 17 9mm. Out of those three full-size duty pistols, the G21.45acp is, in my opinion, the best choice, followed by the G22 .40 caliber were any of the three called into play. I don't have any expectations of being in a firefight with multiple assailants in a football stadium, so, at the most common self-defense shooting encounter (7 yards), neither long range or bullet velocity, or even magazine capacity are going to factor in. What will factor in is that I can draw my weapon of choice from concealment and put it on target like a striking cobra, and hit a six inch target at 10 yards within seconds multiple times if necessary, and when a Hornaday Critical Duty .45acp thumps someone in the chest at that distance it's "game over." And thank goodness because those are some expensive bullets! 😂
Good Day Mr. Benton, Hoping not to offend you but may I inquire what brand of ammo did you use for the ballistics? I watch a video about these 2 rounds and this is what came out. Beretta 92fs (4.9 Inch Barrel) Caliber: 9×19MM Brand: Gold Dot Weight: 115 JHP Velocity: 1275 Muzzle Energy: 415 ft lbs Expansion: .550 Inch Fn 5.7 (4.8 Inch barrel) Caliber: 5.7x28MM Brand: Gold Dot Weight: 40 Grain JHP Velocity: 1650 Muzzle Energy: 240 ft lbs Expansion: .300 Inch Also nice video, keep it up.
9mm is a good round but a not a great round. It has adequate energy, good capacity is relatively cheap but not what I would choose if I could only have one handgun I’d go 357 mag or 10mm. I have bears and the occasional mountain lion where I live and I don’t trust 9 to take them down. Also a lot of meth heads where I live and I don’t trust 9mm for a one shot stop

@@TerryBenton i bet you didn't even know the 5.7 was literally designed to not over penetrate. On top of that it loses its velocity over a certain number of yards , 5.7 loses its velocity faster than 9mm so all your points in this video are wrong, please do your research before just misinforming people looking to be informed. The only true advantage 5.7 has over 9mm is capacity and recoil control. 9mm will still cause larger wounds than 5.7. The smaller ,faster projectile was developed to pierce through russian armor but it was also developed so it wouldnt over penentrate.
Good Day Mr. Benton, Here are 2 possible reasons why I think 9MM people roast you. 1. They want to interact with you and keep the channel funny and interactive rather than simple. 2. They are comparing them unfairly with guns and ammo. Example They compare 9mm from a 5 inch barrel and a 45acp from a 4 inch barrel. When it comes to ammo, 9mm in JHP (Expansion: .500 - .850 Inch) and 45acp in FMJ (Expansion: No Expansion .450 Inch). Or 9MM +P or +P+ vs 45acp standard pressure. I prefer 9MM hence I use the Underwood 115 +P+ (560 ft lbs). However to be honest if we compare them "Fairly", it hard to justify how 9MM is more potent than 45acp. Hence I saw that Underwood 45acp 185 +p+ / super (680 ft lbs) This would mean 45acp +p+ is 20% more potent than 9mm +p+
I actually have a video that explains the energy and velocity on identical critical defence ammo. It is not close. Thank you for your comment, observation and for watching
Thank you for your time

A&P 5.7 goes for 700 and a gen5 g17 stock goes for 600 😂😂😂😂 fuck u on

Seems like meth heads always gravitate towards rural once beautiful places bringing their filth in our rural communities. That and fetty.
With the 5.7 you can shoot them in the brain trust me i have both
Yeah, FN 5.7 will be my first gun given the performance stats. Forget about the 9mm.
You are 100 percent correct. Thanks for watching
FN 5.7 is a hand held rifle
The 5.7 is similar to a rifle cartridge
i prolly get FN 509 as my first besides glock
@@KingJustoFrmGOG or the FN545.
