Very good tips and advice. I am more of a shopper than a hunter. Patience and persistence have paid off for me. One thing that helps though, is in Alabama, I know I can get at least 2 bottles of allocated stuff a month at our drops. I am usually more happy with finding a good bottle that no one is after.
Thanks! We're definitely fans of finding the obscure stuff that nobody is talking about. I mean, we started drinking Benchmark SiB + FP in 2021 before anyone knew what it was. Discovering those kinds of bottles ahead of the trend is what we're all about.
This a was good branching out video from your normal store hunting videos. I found it interesting that you didn't mention the secondary market for finding allocated bottles. So many liquor stores are charging secondary prices its just as easy to check your local secondary pages and snag a bottle. Yes it will most likely be over MSRP but it just an easier method to obtain one. Absolutely love how many times you mention to be respectful to store workers, and simply build relationships. Kindness has went a long way in my bourbon hunting.
I'm glad you've enjoyed it! I have conflicting thoughts about the secondary market, but at the end of the day it's not like they're selling you the cure to cancer or a ticket to Wonka's factory. Booze is meant to be enjoyed and not put behind museum prices.

Where did you find the Weller? I got one too, just missed the Stagg, I guy in front of me got it, so they offered me the Weller's
