i think jungkook's voice is originally breathy to begin with thats why its easier for him to get that delicate sound. for someone who's english is not his first language his pronunciation is so good and his covers always sounds like its his own song he makes covers his own song~

He studied a lot. He said that whenever he sings in English, he studies the words a lot and goes over them with namjoon and other English speakers. He makes sure that his pronunciation is perfect, he’s such a hard worker 🥺

Justin's tone is more like confident seductive and straight up declaration of his feelings
Jungkook tone is romantic more like accepting his own feeling and morer like 1 to 1 telling the loved one . He is confident yet fragile. His tone has excitement of love yet contain patience

It isn’t the technicality that draws people to jungkooks voice it’s the raw emotion. Most singers can sing with perfect pitch but not all can make people resonate with the music by their emotion. This makes jungkook all the more special

I like Jungkook’s version better. By doing it on piano and overall the song being calmer. When he sings it puts that final element of emotion. It’s not a song just to be a song, it feels like he actually went trough it and that makes it beautiful to hear.

Not being biased, I prefer Jungkook's covers, especially his English ones (2U, Paper Hearts, Lost Stars). I just think that he puts more emotion into it and the fact that he does is for international armys is what makes it more special as well.
That's because of his breathy voice, and if you look at another emotional singer like Billie Eilish you will find that she has a breathy voice too.

Im not being biased but I prefer junkooks vocals more because Justins vocals sound speed up and generic(I'm not sure if you did that because of copyright) where as junkooks vocals sound more fresh and emotional almost like he didn't edit or alter his vocals in anyway it sounds like it's being sang live

I never liked Bieber's version because it felt like the lyrics and way it was sung didn't match with the arrangement and it just made my head hurt. I think what Jungkook did really well is to redo the arrangement. The slower acoustic sound feels like it matches the lyrics much better.
Maybe cuz it's a fast tempo and more of a electronic song

I'd like to recommend another cover jungkook did that not many request. It's called Ending Scene. The original artist is a Korean female artist named IU. She's an amazingly talented vocalist. Jungkook did fantastic covering it. 🙂

This is what I think. Justin’s is good, it’s a song I could listen to and dance to when it randomly comes on on the radio. However I personally think that the lyrics can mean so much and are so delicate on their own- the way Justin has it, the lyrics lose their meaning. It just becomes a bop song that you forget when it goes but enjoy while it’s their. Jungkook’s version, in my own personal opinion, gives the lyrics life and makes you actually genuinely listen. I would not be able to get through Jungkook’s without having to stop what I’m doing just to pay attention to what he’s singing. I feel like Jungkook’s actually does the lyrics justice because those aren’t meaningless lyrics. They have a very strong meaning and express the tie between people when they are in love. Jungkook’s actually makes me see that, Justin’s kinda makes me just dance along.
That’s all.
I think Jungkook's innocent and fragile singing, coupled with the piano did the lyrics a lot more credit than what Justin did. It flowed seamlessly and created a beautiful song that truly felt like it was from the heart.

There's something special in Jungkook's vocals. Even if you didn't read the lyrics, you will feel the meaning. Justin is great too, but Jungkook's vocals are just honey golden with emotions fully packed up. He's an angel in and out
