Just put it on her every day for 2 hrs or so and she will get used to it; my cat did. It's worth it in rough weather when accidents can happen. It will keep them going until you can tack back to boat hook them in.

Trevor and Chels just to give you guys a heads up, when a cat pants like Bella was at the end of the video that could of been a sign of her being EXTREMELY stressed out. Cats will do that when their heart rate is elevated it's a way for them to self regulate and calm down.
Agreed, but it didn't seem to last very long, so it could have been a combination of things. She seemed pretty calm for the most part, which is good. Just a few moments of oh crap, and then, but my Trevor is here, so he will keep my safe and she was good.

Heat definitely does play a role in panting as well, its not automatically stress. If she was panting right away, then yes, but after an...hour..30 minutes...it could be a combination. When I moved, my cat was panting almost right away from being in the box and then the hot car. That was stress, and it was instantaneous. My vet said that how fast they start panting, and how long it lasts, helps determine, heat, stress or other causing it.
Its not always stress, my cat always comes back inside panting in the summer. Lasts a minute or 2 until he's cooled down. :) Also a black cat, my tabby doesnt do this. Probably cus the black absorbs more heat.
When Bella was panting she was trying to calm herself down from high stress, but she seemed to do very well with the boat ride from the clips we saw. Some tips I would suggest from studying animal behaviour, I would try doing short boat rides to get her used to the sounds and motion of the boat. You can use treats often so she associates the boat ride as a positive event rather than a scary one. I really like your videos, great work! Bella and Koda having there moment at the beginning of the video was very cute!
She did well, it looks like! Maybe after some more training and exposure, she can try to go to an island to explore, with a leash, of course! Bella is definitely a family member. I'm so glad you guys decided to take her in! Looks like the boys are protective of her, too!
Maybe you held her a bit too high near the edge and she freaked? I sometimes stood with my cat in the arms on the balcony, but when I got too close to the edge (and he could see the far away ground) he tended to freak out :D Loved this episode tho. I think she did really well and could perhaps come to like it :)
