If you want to check out Scott playing the piano more, definitely check out the video for Thank You. It's a Pentatonix christmas song, but it's not at all so christmas-ey that it can't be enjoyed in the summer. It's also written by Scott with/about Mark and it's lovely.
There is a choir version that is amazing! If you follow them on social media you can see how lovely Mark is. He seems to be the sweetest human and they are very much in love. Makes me smile every time I see them together 🫶🏻
"I see that you love me, but I don't understand why" is exactly the sentiment in this song. Scott thinks himself unworthy of Mark's love...and obviously Mark disagrees. Yes, that is Mark with Scott in all those shots of the two. Mark burst into tears when shown the release of the video. There's a TikTok short of his reaction, which was sooo sweet! They'll be getting married sometime this summer. No date has been announced yet....and likely we won't know because of security and that they'd want it to be a family and friends only celebration.
The song is about Marks love helping Scott to believe more in himself. Yes that is Mark. They are getting married very soon. Mark seems to be a kind lovely human Scott is quite good on the piano. Want to hear Mitch slay a solo? During the pandemic Mitch climbed up on his roof and recorded Billie Elishes ‘. “Your Power”. It’s incredible !!!!!!
Scott is a lyric baritone. His range extends from midway through the bass range to a pretty high tenor range (though not as high as Mitch). I believe he has a range of 5 or 6 octaves. You may want to listen to the choir version of this, which Scott got his old buddies SoCal VoCals to perform in. In that version he also says that sometimes he thinks he himself is from Mars, because he just doesn't seem to fit in on earth. Scott's fiance is Mark Manio, and he wrote this song for Mark. And yes, that's Mark you see in the video. Now that you've heard this one, I believe you'd like to listen to "Thank You." Scott and Mark wrote it together, near the end of COVID lockdown, and it's about how much easier it was to get through that time because they were together. IMO it's a better love song than "Mars." Pentatonix performed it, with Scott playing piano as well as singing, and Kevin playing his cello.
Scott is most definitely a baritone. But, when singing leads (as he so often does) he usually sings in an upper or tenor range. And when the bass (Avi or Matt) takes the lead, Scott easily covers the bass line.
Scott not only plays piano but is good at making piano accompaniments. I saw in an interview that before PTX he was thinking he'd like to be a performer like John Legend, who writes songs and sings them while accompanying himself on piano. There is a live version of "Mars" that Scott did on the Kelly Clarkson show earlier this year where it's just him and the piano, and some interesting variations in the lyrics -- th-cam.com/video/kTWIgjOYPmU/w-d-xo.html
You can see Scott playing the piano live, if you look up the live version of "Thank You". Which Scott wrote in the midst of the pandemic about Mark. It will tear your heart out.
Just subcribed to replace the one pinned in your comments. I really like your reactions and appreciate your obvious authenticity!❤ tske care and keep up the good work!
I was going to suggest "Thank You" by Pentatonix but someone beatme to it lol. Not only does Scott play piano but Scott wrote the song as a thank you to Mark for getting him thru a tough year, the pandemic.
You need to watch the Choir version of this song. I mean the video is awesome, but the choir version is absolutely amazing. Yes Scott plays piano in the choir live version. You really do need to watch it.
He plays the piano wonderfully. Check another love song he wrote to Mark during the Christmas of the pandemic called "Thank You". He plays the piano in that.
Enjoyed your reaction. You should check out Thank You. Scott co wrote that song with his fiancee Mark during the pandemic. He plays piano mostly throughout this song. Its very beautiful.
I love this song, his range is just phenomenal, it starts off sounding like a heartbreak song but then bursts into this celebration of pure love. As for more solo Scott, then I recommend you check out his solo version of "I Should Tell Ya Momma on You" and the Avicii cover "Wake Me Up" (not on his channel because he private it, but you can find them responded by others). Also, someone else recommended Mitch's cover of Your Power, I fully agree with that, and I also add to that recommending his cover of The Graveyard, both are very haunting for different reasons, imo.
@@hernameispekka_Rebecca that's what he said on an interview I saw, but he very well could have decided on the other at some point as well. Since they all pretty much landed on their musical journey so young in life, there could have been multiple musical dreams along their journey.
@@rfiliagaful Very true! I don't doubt you at all! I think he had also made plans for music production to make sure he had some more avenues to get in to since going anywhere as an artist is unlikely!
I really do enjoy your reactions. You definitely come across as genuine to me and I hope you ignore any negative comments (although I'm sure that's hard to do sometimes). I thought this was a great and heartfelt reaction as always 😊
I’m not very good at letting those slide by. Something I am working on though ;). And to be completely honest… it’s very hard to judge someone through a screen so I don’t blame those that come to whatever conclusion. I just don’t like it when people call me a liar. That stings. Thank you for your kind words!
I love your reaction to this. I love how you connected with it. It’s such a beautiful song. This is the first original solo work by Scott, but I suspect an EP is coming soon. That being said Scott has done many collaborations well worth a listen - I mean besides Pentatonix and Superfruit. One I really like is “Lost on You” a duet with Mario Jose. Just gorgeous! And obviously absolutely everything from Superfruit since Scott and Mitch together are a special kind of magic. The others do have solo work, all of it in keeping with their extraordinary talent. Mitch does his solo work under the name Messer with an EP “Roses.” Kirstin has an album called “Love” and Kevin has a solo TH-cam channel. I’m sure we’ll get some Matt solo work at some point, too. Avi, of course, has been putting out solo work since he departed PTX. I just went and reminded myself what Superfruit you’ve done, and I see you haven’t done anything from the “Future Friends” EP, yet. I suggest “DenyU” or “Guy.exe”
Scott has 2 other versions of this song - both also amazing and worth a watch… the choir version is amazing!! Also you should check out Mitch’s cover of Your Power by Billie Eilish. Awesome as well. He did all the music and backing track himself. Love your reactions! ❤
I am so glad you reacted to this song and it will be played and my son’s wedding. Like Scott he felt so alone and then just as this song came out he met Jake and it was instant love and we are so blessed
I enjoy your reactions because you are always true and honest in your reactions. So keep on doing what you do 👍😀 Beautiful song, enjoyed this very much 😀
I'm just sitting here wondering whatever gives someone the impression I "pre-react". Glad you liked the song and the reaction! My wife didn't know it yet so it was kind of special to introduce her to something for a change :)
Absolutely love your reactions! You are open a d just say it like it is. Sometimes there are no words because it is just beautiful and filled with emotion. I agree you should also side k out Thank You by PTX. It was written during the pandemic and is also just beautiful.
Perfect reaction. Flawed humans (all of us) can find love that lifts us up. It is his fiancé Mark, and he can play piano. (So can Mitch.) Matt plays drums, Kevin plays cello, piano, saxophone...
My Husband and I have been together almost 38 years. Through ups and downs. Sometimes I still feel unworthy. But he always reminds me that I am. Also you are the same age as my oldest so..hi from Mom 😉
Hi there at the end of this video you had the video of Scott singing mars with a choir PLEASE PLEAS PLEASE react to that in my opinion it is even better Keep up the great work and take no notice of A**holes comments

Yes, it’s what 99.99% of us want and it is a tribute to love ❤️💜💚
The song is about Marks love helping Scott to believe more in himself. Yes that is Mark. They are getting married very soon. Mark seems to be a kind lovely human
Scott is quite good on the piano. Want to hear Mitch slay a solo? During the pandemic

Both Scott and Mitch can play the piano. Ptx, Thank you, shows Scott on the piano. I love your reaction.

check out Pentatonix - Thank You , Scott plays piano in it and it is also emotional song
Mitch singing Your Power by Billie Eilish is stunning and all his songs under the name Messer which is what he goes by as a solo artist.
Scott is most definitely a baritone. But, when singing leads (as he so often does) he usually sings in an upper or tenor range. And when the bass (Avi or Matt) takes the lead, Scott easily covers the bass line.
Scott is so freakin' good!!! Love the emotions he sings with. Yes, that is actually Mark. This song is a masterpiece. Yes, Scott plays piano.
Check out their song 'Thank You', Scott plays the piano in that one!

Please check out "Shoshanna Bean with Scott Hoying - All To Me". This duet is incredibly soulful. Even the 4 piece choir is jaw dropping beautiful!
You need to watch the Choir version of this song. I mean the video is awesome, but the choir version is absolutely amazing. Yes Scott plays piano in the choir live version. You really do need to watch it.
Yes it was his fiancé. Do the choir live version. There are others, each different
Love, love, love this song since it first dropped. That's Mark. Yes he plays the piano, in the song Thank You he plays the piano also.
He plays the piano wonderfully. Check another love song he wrote to Mark during the Christmas of the pandemic called "Thank You". He plays the piano in that.
Yes that's Mark
I love your reactions. I agree with others you should react to "Thank You". Each one of them are so amazing. I could listen to them all day.

Oh, you'd better believe I ain't missing this!!!
Yes, once upon a time, before the birth of PTX Scott dreamed of being a concert pianist.
Really? I thought he wanted to be a singer/piano player more in line with John Legend, Elton John and the like
@@hernameispekka_Rebecca that's what he said on an interview I saw, but he very well could have decided on the other at some point as well. Since they all pretty much landed on their musical journey so young in life, there could have been multiple musical dreams along their journey.

Great reaction, thank you! I love this video, however if you'd like to react to a live version, the "choir" version is 🔥🔥.

Check out Pentatonix Thank You. Scott plays piano throughout.
Wonderful reaction. :) Thanks!
I am so glad you reacted to this song and it will be played and my son’s wedding. Like Scott he felt so alone and then just as this song came out he met Jake and it was instant love and we are so blessed
I still DO NOT understand why this never hit the Billboard Top 20...
You 💯 have to do the live choir version now. So good
So people keep telling me. 100% intrigued! Didn't see that as I looked for the song. I shall look it up!
Love this gorgeous song and video! I highly recommend his cover of I Should Tell Yo Momma on You by Red.
Thank you or eacting to this -- Beautiful love song -

Missed another one…..DAMN!
Nice reaction and true to the song. Appreciate your thoughts and thanks for sharing! You definitely got the point. Love your honesty.
Two other versions of this song are worth checking out for yourself - one acoustic and one with full choir. Both have even more emotion than this.
Perfect reaction. Flawed humans (all of us) can find love that lifts us up. It is his fiancé Mark, and he can play piano. (So can Mitch.) Matt plays drums, Kevin plays cello, piano, saxophone...

Great reaction, thanks!
