@previnsnaidu1 you're probably on point with that, but if we were picking 3rd and martone and hagins are both there, I think you just draft hagins because he's just that much better of a prospect. It will be interesting to see. Hopefully he just get Schaefer and dknt have to worry about it 🤣
As long as the Sharks remain in the bottom 2 in the standings when the season is over which the odds are pretty good to be honest. No matter what happens in the draft lottery. They are a lock to remain in the top 4 in this upcoming 2025 NHL draft and will get the chance to draft at least one of Schaefer, Hagens, Martone, or Misa whom are the clear top 4 in this upcoming draft with in my opinion a big drop off in terms of prospects talent after those 4.
Maybe. Reality is that at least one of those four will likely not be especially good and another player drafted #5-10 ends up better. Very few drafts where all the top four picks are the best 1st rounders.
Yeah, looking at the standings, Sharks have the lowest amount of pts, and have played 3-4 games more than the next worst team lol. This draft kind of reminds of the NFL draft this year. Not clear cut, "generational talent" at the top of the draft.
@@AverageGamerOfficial Yeah Sharks have 34 points which is tied with the Blackhawks for last in the NHL but they also have played 3 more games too. Both the Predators & Sabres have 41 points with the Ducks with 42 who are 3rd and the 4th respectively. So really good chance Sharks end up with with the worst or at least second worst record when the regular season is over and at worst get the 4th overall pick after the draft lottery so you're guaranteed again to draft one of Schaefer, Hagens, Misa, Martone. True this 2025 draft doesn't have a generational talent like McDavid let alone a Bedard or Celebrini who were picked 1st overall in the last two drafts and I doubt as great as a Bedard & Celebrini will be that they likely won't be as all time great as McDavid has become. But they are still top level franchise players you can build a winning team around. I also think the top 4 in this draft is on the same level as top prospects from the previous couple of drafts but without that legit franchise altering talen that again a Bedard and Celebrini were projected to be. Hagens I'd put right up there with Carlson & Fantilli as center. Martone as a forward/wing is slightly below a Michkov but not by much and he also didn't have the uncertainty the latter had where he may have come to the NHL in 2 or even 3 years if he came at all. Also would project he's right there at around or above the level with the likes of Sennecke & Demidov. Schaefer I actually think is better than any of the defense man drafted the past 2 years in particular 2024 which was deemed as one of the best draft classes for defense man in recent memory with Levshunov, Yakemchuk, Parekh, Silayev, Buium, and finally Dickinson who the Sharks drafted 11th overall who all were projected as top 10 picks during the months and weeks leading up to last June's draft.
@@hc1883Agree with everything that you say. Schafer’s best feature is his amazing skating ability. He’s a coast to coast d-man which is what the Sharks desperately need. He’ll probably need another year in the OHL, but will make the jump to the NHL before his twentieth birthday.
If you were running the Sharks, is there a spot in the draft where you consider just moving out of the first round to get into a spot for next season? Not sure if there is any clear cut amazing guys coming out next year or the next, but I think our core is young enough that we can not spend a high first this year and try to stack some picks for the next draft?
Who ever we draft this year i don't expect to be on the team. Have them stay in junior one more year. They can join once the core is more established and most importantly once Mack is now 3 years into the league and a bonefied superstar
While it hurt like he**, I broke my collarbone and once healed, you’re as good as new with no lingering side effects. Assuming the Chicago and SJ choose 1 and 2- I’d be really surprised if Hagens and Schafer do not go in that order.
@@moviestoshare813 seems like the Hawks biggest need is to have someone up front playing alongside Bedard more than another blue liner. If not Hagens, then Misa. If SJ doesn’t get Schafer, then they get the best available option, stock up on F/C and they can make a trade or two in the future to bolster their defense.
Schaefer is definitely what we should get first, Misa has been tearing it up but if Hagens is off the table, I really think we need a power forward like Martone to create some space for Smith/Celebrini
