To put it simple, you can park where ever you want providing that you and the van are legal plus where you park has no restrictions..it also doesn't help that some you tubers and yes they have made videos about it, think its great and clever to park in places were they shouldn't, which in turn encourages their sheeples to do the same and thats why place then get height barriers or big rocks blocking vans....I drive trucks 3 months of the year to fund my van life, to add to your spend local comment, when I go to Scotland I take no supplies and buy all I need locally while im up there, Vanlife, the BEST life,
Thanks for the comment. Yeah it’s all about being where you are allowed to be. We’ve seen people on TH-cam overnight park in all sorts of places and in the back of my mind I think… “that’s why places get shut down”. But hey we can only control ourselves and our actions. It’s all about buying local. In all honesty it should be something we all do whether in a van or not. But that’s a conversation for another video 🤣. We don’t want to preach too much lol 😂.
Unfortunately in Scotland. So i have found on my vanlife travels. Behind most layby bushes, the ground is covered by wet wipes, used as a convenient toilet area. It's not the vanlife people doing this, but we get the blame.
Very well said re subject. Murphy did some lovely photo bombing in this video, especially over the sink, Trists shoulder. Thought he was going to use the litter tray too 😂.
Thanks Andrea, hope to spark some positive conversations 🤗. Haha if it’s not Frank it’s Murphy crashing the recording 🤣😂. Thank god he didn’t use his litter tray, not the motivation we need whilst filming 🤪. Hope you’re having an awesome Sunday 😎🤙
As i'm new to this, and yet to venture out in my Berlingo with bootjump onto the wildside, mainly due to lack of facts . Only done campsites so far. Can I clarify, how do you know if Local Authority has implemented a ban such as New Forest. I live in Devon nr Plymouth on edge of Dartmoor, I know Dartmoor is a no go area, and rightly so. But say I'm driving down a lovely coastal road and come across nice peaceful lay by, and no signage, can I stay here legally overnight, or as ive mentioned how would i know there is a Local Authority ban in area. Great video, great content, great approach, and I certainly agree, hit them with kindness / smile approach is so much more rewarding and successful than yelling approach.
This is a great question and one I don’t think has a clear answer. Which maybe part of the wider issue. In a lot of places if people or local authorities don’t want you there they will put signs up more often than not. I guess our advice would be to take a good look around the spot you want to park up in. Are there signs? Will you be obstructing or blocking any traffic of any sort? Take a look at Park4Night and Search for Sites to see if anyone has left comments regarding ‘no overnighting’ etc. Then make a personal choice on how comfortable you feel. Even without signs, someone may have an issue and that might just be a personal one. A lot of times most people don’t care and want to carry on with their lives 😎🤙
I 100% think It’s jealous You’re getting to live the life they wanted to but can 😢. But the only thing stopping them is them selves and that’s what frustrates some more . The point about HGV Is something I’ve mentioned a few times if a bandit, they must ban it for all not a select handful I’m doing that would bring the country to its knees as they need drivers as it is left alone putting even more restrictions which wouldn’t even be possible
That’s what we think. People are jealous of others stepping out the norm and living life they way they see it. You’re right, that’s where the frustration comes from… themselves. They don’t want to take a chance, take a leap and do as they want not as they are told. Life is far too short and we’ve seen too many lives cut short. No one knows what tomorrow brings that’s why they call today the present 🎁. It’s a gift for us all to wake up each day and conquer what’s in front of us. We hope you’re having an awesome day and thanks for dropping us a comment. We really appreciate it Simon 😎🤙
Love Fleetwood Mac! Especially ‘Everywhere’. It spoils it for others when people do feel it’s a grey area and find their own loophole! A full time van lifer on another channel said it was illegal on a handful of times during the VT, it’s unfortunate as the channel has a huge following and gave out false information.
Thank you, we love a bit of Fleetwood Mac blasting in the van 😍. It’s definitely not illegal everywhere. But it is such a grey area as you say. We really want to help open conversations and see a positive way forward. Thanks for dropping us a comment and hope you have an awesome Sunday 😎🤗🤙
"Say hello to my 'little' cat? Murphy." My cat Rosie says little is an opinion, not a fact. 🤣🤣 Apart from that first bit, I agree with everything you said. People, pfft!
Hey Lottie and Rosie, hope you're having a great Sunday. People are funny, aren't they? It seems like people want to shout louder and be more angry... Sad times. We're all on the planet together, so let's do it with a smile. Have a great rest of the day 🤙🏼
Done vanlife full time for 5-6 weeks now and *luckily* only had two poor experiences. One guy off his face on whatever substance who just climbed in when we had the door open on a (rare) hot day. That was scary. And then one person who came over and said “DID YOU SLEEP HERE? Where did you go to the toilet?!!” I said “are you a police officer?” They said they weren’t but it was their business. I said “call them then, I’d be happy to show them my van credentials and onboard toilet”. They keep rabbiting on and I said cheekily “you really live up to the reputation of miserable whiny Brits that have nothing better to do but complain” and shut my doors and pulled my curtains. Miserable old 🐮.
Hey, congratulations on your first few weeks of vanlife 😎🤙🏼. That first experience is a little nuts. We had something odd at a park up where a big dog came running into our van as we had the door open on a hot day. Frank was not happy and it all went a little nuts. The owner ran over, did a weird laugh and they both went off 🤷♂️. People having a word is just that. Smile and keep on trucking. It's hard to have a go at someone who is smiling and non-aggressive. You can't please everyone in life.
I have to say Brits as a whole do live up to the nosey, whiny reputation. Done vanlife all over Europe, New Zealand, Australia previously on various holidays and never had even one issue. Not one.
We wonder if it's the amount of people living in a relatively smaller space than a lot of the rest of the world. Especially in the South Coast of England. We hear a lot more positives in vanlife abroad. How's your Frenchie doing in the van 😎?

In ridiculous places where I live.
@AdventuresOfKiri No, what I mean is that the van is taxed, MOT’d and insured

@@TristandKez Exactly.
I think all van folks should have CB or PMR as a way of communicating and community, just like the truckers did! CB is still a thing BTW.
I said to Kez we should get a CB one day. We have some short range 2 ways but they’re not great 🥴

Just be aware of where and how you park. Motorhomes are targeted because they stand out . Most people get it and you can’t reason with stupid.
