Congratulations not only for the magnificent way you play, but also for the way you show that it's not impossible to play like the best guitarist of all time!
He didn't. The Hendrix Estate have not allowed anyone to put those two songs on any compilation, Hendrix or otherwise. they maintain it would damage Hendrix's reptuation.
Really gives you an appreciation of Jimi’s playing and what he had to do before he got famous. It’s easier to play lead over a chord progression but to tastefully embellish and to compliment a rhythm section so naturally is a talent. Jimi had that. A true natural craftsman. These videos give you an insight into his technicality but also his ability to do simple things at the right time. Well done.
I've been watching your videos for about four years now, but I only saw this one today. Everyone tells you the truth, you are representing the music that Jimi Hendrix wanted to share with anyone willing to really listen. Thank you from all of us.
After listening the whole purple box set, now I'm aware of every song from TJH ... but this one you are playing ... is away from my radar ... again. Your videos keep me on the right track .... I will listen this song for a week day and night in order to soak my mind and play it next week with everything in it's place. My love/attention for Strat/Hendrix fretboard moves is endless !!!!
Greg, thanks so much for posting this wonderful arrangment - so clear and articulate. If Hendrix were alive, I'd bet he would love your beuftiful interpretations of his tunes.
such beautiful playing, i even decided to learn it myself after listening to you play it, you can really see the curtis mayfield influence in jimi’s playing truely fantastic how he can just come up with all of this on the spot and even more fantastic you can recite it all note for note, great stuff greg
Could you please make an cover of little one?. I been searching the web for this for ages. I would realy like to learn this. I learned alot by checking your videos
Hey Greg, your videos are truly inspiring. Could you do Earth Blues please? I think that song will be no trouble for you at all haha! Thanks for sharing with us.
I am big fan of Jimi and your covers, thank you for your time to learn and upload all vids. Out of hundreds of requests you get on your videos I hope one day you will consider consider "Crying blue rain" from Valleys of Neptune.
Awesome! Great song! Always underrated IMHO. You are like a Jimi Hendrix Rhythm encyclopedia lol. Could you please do a Hey Joe cover from Woodstock or even better Monterey Pop? Thanks and please keep making these videos!
