Today I am making a quick lens photo review with the Sony 35mm F1.8 OSS paired with ZV-E10. This is an APSC Lens which is equivalent to 52.5 mm full frame equivalent. Hence, it can produce really nice and sharp potrait photos. I have used this lens to shoot some amazing photos. Today I demonstrate to you guys, the actual reall SOOC (Straight out of Camera) Photo.

Color : Standard Color (Creative Style)
Aperture : F1.8
No doubt, in this video I go through some pros and cons of 35MM F1.8 OSS Lens from Sony.
I hope you can learn more about this lens and camera. And i will continue to make more content with Sony ZV-E10 in the future. I love and hate this camera at the same time. The only thing i hate is its limitations. Otherwise, this is the perfect camera for me, because I like small and compact camera.

Yes, I have that lens currently, been using for over a year now. For night time, ya, it will work fine. I will try to make a review soonest. At the moment, preapring for Iphone 15 and A6700 hot topicðð

Yes, it is also attached to my camera all the time, when i hangout with my girlfriend.
I prefer the Sony 50mm f1.8 FE for portrait. The bokeh is pleasing to my eyes.

@@andybelii hi andy, do you mean sigma 56mm F1.4 ? Yes, it is amazing for potraits. But there are only 2 downsides which held many of us back for not purchasing it. (1) It is only good for shooting potraits and (2) it is a APSC Lens. Because the lens is not cheap, it shouldn't be a priority to get it unless we only shoot potrait photo

a 35mm is a 35mm on anything you put it on, so you are going to have massive face distortion. i wouldn t say it's a good portrait lens.
No sir, if you mean perspective distortion, i disagree with you.
There is literally no distortion on face;
I own full frame camera with 50mm lens.
The result is the same with 35mm Lens cropped on APSC camera to become 52.5mm.
Unless u say 50mm distort face?

That being said. I can't let you live a lie lol.
a 35mm lens has the same characteristics (but different field of view) no matter on what you are shooting. If it's a 35mm on micro 4/3s, or on APSC, or on Full Frame, or a medium format camera.
Your field of view and depth of field change with the size of the sensor, but the image itself does not. you just see more or less of the image. but the characteristics of a 35 are the same.
Maybe a better way of understanding is putting a 85mm on a hasselblad h4d-60, that will give you effective field of view of a 55mm lens (because of the massive sensor) , but the telephoto aspects of the lens remain the same. it's not going to look like a 55mm lens on a full frame camera. it will have compression of the background like a 85.
anything under 80mm distorts facial features, that's why the 85 is a de-facto portrait lens. if you want to do environmental portraits then sure.. use a 35, use a 50.. whatever you want. but a 35 will distort facial features, there is no way around it.
and one last thing. no! the 35mm and 50mm can not give you the same results. it may look similar, sure.. but the 50mm will compress the background more, and you will have a more natural looking face.
put your brother in the middle of the frame, and shoot him once with the 35mm, once with the 50mm, keeping the same framing, and zooming out with your feet. you'll see i m right.
