Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan is creating new benchmarks for the Hindi film industry with its box office collections. The film’s opening day collection of Rs 75 crore was a historic figure. Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan is the first Hindi film to cross the Rs 200 crore mark in domestic collections in just three days.

The way they mentioned BHOPAL TRAGEDY multiple times is really great...very few people know about this incident and new generation is probably even unaware of this tragic chemical disaster that happened in our country. How chemical factories are irresponsible towards the people living in that area is a major issue that needs to be talked about more.. kudos to the director for mentioning this, I have never seen this issue being taken up in Bollywood before
Good to know that Bhopal gas tragedy is mentioned in Jawan. I have not had a chance to watch it yet. I'm from Bhopal, lived through this tragedy. Sadly, even people working in the environment areas don't know about it. I had a long discussion about it with some international colleagues at a conference in Italy just yesterday.

The movie was released on Janmashtami (Shri Krishna's birthday). Hero was born in jail (just like Shri Krishna) and was raised by another mother (again same). He grows up to be a messiah to fight the wrongs in the society (just like Shri Krishna did)

I remember an interview of SRK with Anupama Chopra wherein, he addressed the failure of RA One and Fan and said that he'd never give up on the idea (superhero and double-role action thrillers). He'd be in a wheelchair and still get it right. With a string of failures of SRK playing double roles (Duplicate and FAN), the success of Jawan is a testimony of his grit and perseverance! He never let go of the idea of doing double roles and it feels extremely warm that it panned out well. SRK is an Icon that transcends way beyond the screens.

You guys are absolutely right. This was in a DC extended universe. IDK why no one is talking about Bane's cameo. Vikram was a superhero with a tribal god's power. In Jawan 2 fight will be against Bane's Empire who is pissed off and is eager to acquire the territory.
A new scientific technique I discovered in the movie was the "checking-the-pulse-and-understanding-woman-is-pregnant" trick! :D And may be Vijay Sethupati could have been more menacing. But would not call that a flaw. Also, the nuances which SRK brought to both Azad and Vikram Rathore were praiseworthy. That "Baba" melted my heart every damn time :)

But i felt that is the point. The movie felt like Nayak. 1 din mai instant solution. Farmers ka loan bohat baar maaf kiya hai, that is not the issue at all. Issue toh yeh hai ki kya kare that they do not need ki loan maaf ho. Unko instead of just farmers, group business mai kaise laa sakte hai jisme unka financial security badhegi. But this wasn't addressed at all. Same with medical equipments. Ek baar de ke kya hoga? That was an issue for me. Ki system ko address kiya hi nahi solution ke liye. When that is the real culprit instead of who is on the chair. Humne dekha hi hai, koi bhi aye politics mai, woh khud hi maila hoga, instead of cleaning it up. Toh mujhe kafi superficial laga.
Fun Fact: Money Heist itself taken inspiration of multiple Movies and used the same scenes and follows a book which story is written in 1970.

Just saw the film and what a great movie! In the recent times when bollywood has been continually coming up with 'decent one time watches' this was definitely something that I would watch multiple times. Shah Rukh proves that he is 'last of the stars'. Yes South Indian cinema has been doing this since a long time, but the 'classy' factor which Shahrukh brings is still impeccable.
Unpopular Opinion - I personally think Vijay Sethupati performance would have been more loudly evil (film being a massy masala entertainer, it was the requirement of the role according to me). Even after watching him say and do the worst things possible as an antagonist, I couldn't feel a hate or extreme rage for his character (except from the scene when he is talking to Deepika's character before her hanging because he was pretty loud with his face expressions and body language). His broken Hindi looked more cute to me as also mentioned by you guys. Hence the dialogue delivery never feared or tensed me. Also the tonal texture and voice pitch of him here seemed completely same to me as in Farzi, where he was in fact a positive character (which he did very well). Shahrukh's performance definitely made me heartily root for him, but Vijay's performance didn't ignite the fire inside me to heartily root against him.

SRK has done voice modulation when taking to police negotiation.
The background score and music was actually good and subtle. Mix of both south indian classical and bollywood beats which makes it more subtle targeting larger audience across Pan India. Maybe it's just the matter of the acquired taste but it was relevant to every scene, it is not fair to say that it is not relevant or not over the top.
Frankly speaking, the story line was hapazard. There was real lack of character introduction and chemistry between the characters was missing. By the time you absorb a scene, it moves to the next scene.
My favourite was Older Shahrukh Khan and his presence. What a look and entry he had in the movie.
I was rooting for a Main hoon na sort of movie, where a great chemistry was built between the characters.
The first fight sequence of the film was top notch and I strongly feel the ending could have been made better but overall it's a very good film
The music of the movie is good. I don't understand why it is being panned. We have been jamming to Chaleya and Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya ever since we watched the movie, and it only grows into you the more you listen. You may call it an acquired taste but it is by no means average. Zinda Banda got theatres clapping, hooting and dancing everywhere. And that end credit sequence with both father and son was just *chef's kiss* good!

Jawan is a film loaded with great messages, very touching with the issues of farmers and hospitals. The fight scenes are also very exciting, all the actors down to the child actors do a good job, especially SRK, he plays his 2 roles brilliantly. Jawan got very good reviews from Malaysians. We here like Jawan 🙌 The 2nd time we went to the cinema after Pathaan.

Short Review - Jawan is to political issues if the country as Rocky aur Rani ki prem kahani is to social issues of the country. A random love story or a father son story is in there for the mix.
I saw the movie based on reviews and feedback. Political msgs were there and ok however, action scenes were too over and pure South Indian movie.

The genuine fact is that while this movie is refreshing for us SRK fans and north Indians, it's also a regular movie for South Indians. The template has been around for a long time now. Vigilante methods, double roles, social messaging, over the top evil villain is a regular recipe here. For us it was only the SRK factor that was new!
The template is not uniquely South Indian. All mainstream industries in India had these vigilante stories for years, even Gabbar was. But that is just the packaging of the film. Packaging is not the point of the film. The main point why it worked is that the makers had the guts to call out incidents that actually happened instead of some fictional situations. These things were still fresh in our memories but the tragedy is that not even our mainstream news media was talking about it. But the film did, and didi it while entertaining. Saying real incidents that no one is saying in films right now
@@rana1561 I see ur point but these issues have been taken up in mainstream South movies in recent past. Farmer issues is a regular theme in many movies like Mahesh's Maharshi. Electoral discipline and medical scams are dealt in Vijay's Kaththi. Responsible voting is taken up in extreme detail in Leader and Bharat Ane nenu. Double roles with an evil baddy and delivering social messages is a staple in Balakrishna's movies. The fact is it's only new for Northern audiences and for SRK fans.

The film is working not because it's something new, but because it has pointed something which is clearly not heavily fictionalized to play safe, in an industry which has been an easy target.

The credit scene in the movie wasn't needed at all, they just shot it later seeing all the hype movie was generating and opening doors for a possible sequel. Azad was shown in beard while he was clean shaven throughout the movie which clearly indicates this. Bhai in the movie there was multiple brand endowment felt like watching multi brand ads in the movie, funniest I felt was there was a finance lending company banner in background (dont want to mention the brand name) where he was taking about the partiality of lending behavior in the system that poor gets worst interest rate loan. The brand placement in the scene rather than marketing of brand felt defamation of the brand .

Movie failed to maintain consistency unlike RDB,Gabbar is back,Sivaji the boss n Nayak. It starts off as an ambitious fast paced film but soon doze off into Masala Villain revenge saga. It could hv touched other topics of Social commentary like Education,Finance especially Taxes, Social justice etc. Nayak instead is a standout film in this genre as It has shown everythg.
