Man you are so correct. These guys act like they have never done any hobby welding whatsoever. I'm still waiting to see one of these experts run beads on very thin material and show us how it's done.
Not at shipyards. They do this every day when the fittings aren't right. With enough heat it will basically burn through everything in it's path slag included.
That is not how to weld a gap. You have to run a bead on each side until they eventually merge. Slugging a gap will get you fired on the job. I promise you.
When you have something that doesn't require too much sense of strength that's the perfect idea instead of wasting too much time and making a beat on every side for something that doesn't require it too much tensile strength
All these comments and no one has posted a video anywhere on the internet showing how to run a true bead while stick welding on rusted thin material including me. Why? Because you cant if you really know welding. I guarantee you will blow clean through after about one half in.of trying. Production welder 29 years and counting shipyards and navy vessels.
@@artyfuffkin7805 the problem is the first time welders, not knowing any better, that use this as a tutorial and think you are supposed to plug a gap like this rather than trust your weld and run a bead...
Don't weld like this. It's bad. If you weld like this you can take a pair of pliers and easily break this whatever it is but it's not a completed weld.
Only good at a cosmetic level. Poor welding practice that results in a weak weld, prone to fracture failures if all but very minimal stresses applied. This technique might work for MIG welding (although really not too well) but not stick.
Well on what he's doing it's fine. We have used slugs on ships countless of times. It all depends on who's welding it. Slug the gap and crank up the juice.
Come on man, look at the porosity and the inclusions you are getting by stitch welding. We know you can run a clean bead of weld from your other videos.

Al fin se dijo!!!! 👏👏👏
ahahaha this is so funny comment thx 😅 You Made My Day! 👍🏻🤣👍🏻
No problem with that. Maybe on a industrial level this could be a problem, but for home welding it's perfect.
To many smart-ass comments.
The problem is inexperienced welders seeing this and thinking it is the right way to do it. Wich it is not
You just proved my point.
Too
@@riaan6421no he just explained why this is a terrible thing to teach people.

If you work in industrial, you will be terminated right away😂😂

But industrial metal is way heavier and you must go at it with proper welding methods, no?

It looks non structure, just a bad gap. Send it bro. Weld that mf up. Paint it, call it done.

It would get you fired?? Lmao no It wouldn't. Not in the feild. I'm talking steel mills, paper mills, power house's etc.

Use the correct rod and that’s not an issue

if this was a welding test you'd fail straight away.
This is in the 3rd world
Very thin old steel he's the expert on that

Do you know how to weld a bead? Or just tack? Of course you will never fill a gap properly if all you can do is tack weld...
Obviously he's located in Bangalahouchy ...where these thin rusty square tube welding tutorial originate from so he good

As a CWI this type of video kills my soul
Grind and weld the back around 10 amps higher with a proper continuous bead( uphill) and your good period.
Better fit up would eliminate that problem. And 1/4" is not thin metal.
Would be sacked on the spot if the inspector found out .Shocking
Can i mix others metal such as lead or standless or copper when i can't find iron. please answer
Wulala👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yeah he better get the grinder out ...with welds like that it'll rip the shirt sleeves off a person 🤣

Is the camera damaged by the welding light?
Yes, yes it is, there are special cameras with protected lenses specifically for welding
if one cell of the CCD get overloaded it can bleed charge to the neigbouring cells, that's where the stripes come from.
I stopped the clip once I saw the tacks. You’re going to end up with a joint that’s only welded at the surface level.
now thats throwin down the gauntlet
ÓTIMO SERVIÇO 👍
That’s one way to loose your job😅

What is a current you use?

oke bos.
And let the fighting, BEGIN!
Far easier to just buy a mig welder instead of using the stick
Hey look.... a crap weld.
