I have been messing about with this for hours and now after the following this I got it working in 10 minutes. Many Thanks. I also added the ethernet ports to the bridge.
I follow the steps but when I click start on 'setup repeater' it just says 'scanning' constantly. I've double checked SSID and password and even copy and pasted ssid from the scan part of the wlan.
Hello 🙂Thanks for making the video. I have followed the steps and the MikroTik router does not broadcast internet. I am using a Calix Gigacenter as the primary router. Any suggestions? Maybe some setting on the primary? Your assistance will be much appreciated
Very nice. Maybe show us how to set up the repeater Mikrotik so it hands out the DHCP address. That way, you can have a private network behind a firewall (NAT & DHCP server) and just one ip address handed out by the upstream router/hotspot. I suspect it's setting one of the interfaces to router instead of station bridge, but nothing is that simple with Mikrotik router OS. :)
This is fantastic, much more performant than mesh! For best performance it would seem important to match the repeater wlan settings to the main AP settings. Out of the box my repeater sets the 5GHz wlan at 20MHz but I have set my main AP to 20/40/80MHz which would limit the repeater to 20MHz.
Hello, thank you for your helpful guidance. I have a question: With this method, if we move to different rooms in the house or office, does the device automatically switch between Wi-Fi signals, or do we have to manually switch whenever the signal becomes weak?
Does this setup work only with Mikrotik router (both the main and the repeater) or can the main be something else and just mikrotik as a repeater. My main router is Fritzbox and it's seems it just doest work like it should based on your video. Maybe i am doing something wrong?
thanks Maher , actually i follow your steps and configure my mikrotik hap as repeater . but i have a problem when i try to connect to the repeater signal always says coul not" connect to the network" . "error geting ip " any help please . ?
I think the same thing happens to me. I have traffic from the main router to the mikrotik but not from "wlan1" to the "virtual wlan3" and when adding a DHCP to "bridge1" it only shows "scanning..."
This configuration is mostly a moot point. On newer devices, there is no wireless driver anymore and you have to use wifiwave2, which still does not seem to support wireless repeater, and asking Mikrotik, it's even not actively on the roadmap.
is there any way to WAKE ON LAN mikrotik devices? means i shutdown the mikrotik through winbox and after sometime i used my phone to WAKE ON LAN to mikrotik device to power on? is that possible?
Hello. I can’t find the wireless option on the left of winbox 7.14.2. I only have wifi and all the tabs are different at the top. Do I need to use an older winbox version? Many thanks
In case you have device with Wi-Fi 5 wave2 or newer WiFi interfaces ("wifiwave2", "wifi-qcom-ac" or "wifi-qcom" package installed) there is no such option. The video is basically for Wi-Fi 4 or earlier devices which have "Wi-Fi Repeater" mode support
What is the hardware that you're using here, sir? I know it is a one year old video and that MikroTik products probably changed already but I'm interested in the reference used in this video.
Hi Maher, Many thanks for this super easy Tutorial - that feature i completely missed. But another question: i would like to include the lan ports of a distant repeater as well to be bridged and connecting via WLAN to the main access point. Is that possible with the same option as well? I could not figure it out until now without having an ip configuration. Thanks and regards from Germany!
Best 11 minutes invest for a lesson! Thanks! Especially for the last part of deep teaching!

Well done Maher. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Very helpful.

Thank you, i was able to set mine up after a week of trying, almost gave up
Thank you very much! Your video helps. And you explain it so easily!
Thanks Buddy you are the Best, it's working!!
You do a good job explaining things, like this thanks....
Great video ! Is it possible to setup that repeater for a wlan with multiple virtual ssid also ?
Excellent video, greetings from Bolivia man, make an video relative to failover recursive of ISP for High Availavility.
Can the LAN ports be used or is this not possible in repeater mode?

is it possible to add DoH to the repeater if yes please show how❤
Thank you so much! You helped me a lot!

Very nice !, one question... what if need to separate the network home1 from home ? What additional steps need to be perform ?
how about configure mikrotik as a access point? does it work also. Thanks
Is the Mikrotik hAP AC2 have wifi repeater?

yep
Awesome video thanks!

Very clever 👏 and helpful

Hi yes it can be, but you would need to use station pseudo bridge instead.
Very Helpfull. Thanks a lot!
Thank you for your tutorial.
I have a question how to start from the 'blank' router?
reset, no default config
thanks Maher ,
actually i follow your steps and configure my mikrotik hap as repeater .
but i have a problem when i try to connect to the repeater signal
always says coul not" connect to the network"
.
"error geting ip "
any help please . ?
Not able to reach your dhcp server or you did not configure a dhcp server. There you should check.

Connected to my main router but cannot connect any device to Mikrotik repeater.

do you install mikrotik in virtual windows system?
nop. I use CHR image with GNS3

You can find all MikRotik devices models in video at 09:38

stupid me...just adding the interfaces to the automatically created bridge worked super well :) MANY thanks for your input!
yes but do the Wireless mode as Station bridge.
Thanks Maher.
welcome :)
If you try this with a SSiD that is open (no PSK), the MikroTik just sits there "scanning-for-wps-ap".
Too bad this does not work for open networks...
Great tutorial thanks

did not work for me :(
круто
I tried doing this so i can connect a cable from the router to the DVR, but now its only repeating the wifi, Ethernet is dead 😢
What a mess you made dude 😂
Simple and Excellent tutorial, thanks 👍👍👍👍👍

very well explained, Thanks much!
