Of course there's always a chance to win, but if you know anything about basketball, you know this is just not a good team. Their half court sets are terrible. Their defense is terrible. They get out classed by better teams in the league, and it's understandable. There's a reason they got 2 1st round picks back to back. Regardless of CC's 'greatness' and KM's scoring, they have a lot of work to do, and I just don't see it happening with this coach. Simple as that.

You do know that Fagbbenle scored 0 points and had only 2 rebounds last night? Hull had some hustle plays, but she got smoked by Bonner over and over again. She is a spot up shooter. She cannot put the ball on the floor and create her own shot and her lay up attempts get blocked A LOT. She is better as a sixth man, not a starter. The Fever simply do not have enough depth or talent on the bench to beat any of these four top teams....PERIOD!! We are too reliant on CC, Kelsey and Boston (Dantas is a role player that can't rebound or play defense. Great spot up shooter. I think the Fever will get better next year and upgrade their bench. I love them, but Wednesday night will probably be it if the Sun keep playing team ball.

They had a really off shooting day when in comparison, the Sun just had one of those can't miss days. Mabry was on fire - she barely missed. Any time that disaparity happens in a game, you aren't going to win. That said, the Fever likely won't be that bad next game. The Sun likely won't be that good. I won't write them off yet. That said, they are a young team playing a very good veteran team with more depth. If they lose the series, not the end of the world.
Sides never Takes accountability, she Always blames the Players. She must Go in the offseason, That is the single Most important issue with this young Team and of course they have No Bench.

I don't know what game you watched. Lexi did great at hustling for extra rebounds, etc. But Bonner shook her out of her panties on countless plays and scored (and Bonner is 37). Lexi is a spot up shooter who gets her drive shots blocked A LOT and cannot create her own shots off the dribble (she fumbles the ball). Lexi is a sixth man, a spark off the bench (not a starter). Gabby Williams would be so much better for that starting role.
I don't claim the poke in the eye was intentional. But, I can't imagine shooting well after being poked in the eye, having a bruise and some swelling below the eye. It's got to affect aiming her shots, at the very least, in spite of what CC said. CC gets a pass from me for this game. And, it wasn't just CC, Kelsey wasn't her usual self-either... Not to mention the Sun's defensive efforts. Tough team! Credit to Lexie and Damiris for keeping the fever in the game and briefly even getting the lead back! We have to earn it the hard way, but we're not out of it by any means....
When the 3 isn’t dropping, CC has to get to the rim. If she has a foot or two in the paint, it’s gotta go up. A few made jumpers or layups will help spark the 3.

They played great defense in Q1 and Q2. I don't know what happened after that. But if their shots fall in then they can win. Regardless, Great Job Sides! Great Job Indiana, always stay positive!!
They actually made a lot of mistakes in the first half but got away with them. The second half was a disaster. More mistakes, terrible 3 point shooting and they allowed the Suns to get too many gimme layups . I still wonder about Sides . I see the good coaches in the league come up with offensive and defensive schemes that are designed for specific opponents. They also make adjustments between halves. The Fever seem to run the same schemes regardless of who they are playing. Hopefully getting their asses kicked today will make the Fever come back with a great effort in game two and make the Suns over confident. Can anyone figure out what's going on with Lexie? She passed up an open 3 again today and then missed one or two. Maybe a confidence issue,
If was tough for Clark playing with an eye injury. But she must try to remain aggressive. Clark has a lot of speed and needs to drive to the basket, work her midrange game, & utilize floaters when her 3-point shots are not falling.

It made her tentative and threw off her vision. However as I said Clark must still find ways to be aggressive on offense. She is fast and needs to remember that she can drive to the basket, shoot midrange shots, and throw up floaters when her 3-point shots are not going in. Hopefully with 3 days of rest and film work Clark will get back to normal. I believe in her.

The refs refusing to call that as a foul just illustrates how biased and corrupt the referees have been this season against Clark. That foul messed up Clark's vision and obviously made her tenative. The WNBA continuing to play prison ball with one sided officiating is going to turn off all of the new fans who are only watching because of Clark. Leave it to the WNBA to continue to shoot themselves in the foot. Eye gouging in Rugby league is taken very seriously with large fines and long suspensions. I was a new fan to this sport because of CC but I'm pretty much done watching this incompetent bunch.
One suggestion, when the other team is going on a run like Connecticut did in the 4th quarter, Sides should call an immediate time out before it gets out of hand. Seasoned coaches know this.
Caitlyn needs a mid range game to give her game more balance..She can’t expect to 30 ft jumpers to go thru the hoop like layups. She also needs mental maintenance as well.. She easily gets discouraged when her shots aren’t falling and it affects the rest of her game
I thought her defense was improving. I think I was wishing more than reality. She just can't guard anyone! She's so smart on offense and so dumb on defense. I've never seen a player with this issue.
referee number 42 Roy Gulbeyan might as well give a conneticut jersey and a pack of sun gear some of the other referees made some questionable calls and non calls maybe referee number 77Jenna Reneau was the most objective even with some no calls but seem to be untop of stuff and issues with the clock
So, do The Fever have practices where Coach Sides has them actually work on D, and different plays to adapt during a game, and screens, and boxing out, etc - and then they just go to the game and just forget it all?! Boston is barely setting up screens again, for instance. CC was sluggish and not cutting and running and moving when she was in the corner!! So lazy and frustrating! I felt like we were always on the orange side of the court: ( ... ... I feel like the team (including the Coach) is not LEARNING and EVOLVING and ADAPTING. I do think KM has evolved -- letting herself pass the ball more, and way improved D! ... All of our first 8 players are so freaking talented so I just dont get it!! I'm here for it no matter what -- and havent missed a game yet, but geesh!!

I didn’t get to watch. I, too, don’t understand why Sides won’t call timeouts. Unless I am mistaken, In their last game vs. Aces, they had two timeouts that could have been used to advance the ball late in the close game.
Fever’s perimeter defense is abysmal - the guards keep a foot in the paint when they shouldn’t. They go under screens instead of over them. They play drop coverage and never jam the screens. Should not happen consistently at this level.
I saw a slow motion video at an angle not shown in the broadcast during the game at a podcast today and the eye-gouging of Carrington was 1,000% purely intentional. It should have been a flagrant 2 foul but the refs as usual doesn't give a sh*t when it comes to Caitlin. The WNBA should take immediate action on this or Caitlin can file charges prior to the next game, she could have lost an eye with that dirtbag action.
I can't tell if Sides is that stupid or is she directly/indirectly doing what the company wants her to do. In other words, always be a negative to the Fever. Use CC for the money but always hold back her shine.
Out coached, out shot, out played, out fouled., out rebounded, etc. This game was lost end of the second quarter on the 10-2 run and no time out called. Their coach su KS and rh3 Sun kicked their ass. Totally unprepared.
THE FEVER NEEDS AN NBA COACH ASAP ! No team with Caitlin, Kelsey, Boston, and Hulls talent should be blown away to this degree. They need a strong fifth starter . Then they would have a decent bench. Dandus I would say would be the first coming off the bench to get some minutes. Fagbenli, and Smith when they’re hot they’re very good, the problem is - depending on the opposing team - they are not consistent . This might just be me, but CC hasn’t seemed herself in the past three games. Possibly since she knew she was going to be in the playoffs. This games loss is huge mentally. They’re playing a better team, and regardless of what she says ,the stress has to be overwhelming.
CC needs to find a way to relax before these big games. The last two big games ( this one, and the one against the Aces) she has come out to wound up and not shot the ball well. Maybe meditate or find something that relaxes her. She should take up golf, then she would learn how to deal with being frustrated and things not going her way

Lexie Hull was the only one player with the intensity and hustle on defense and i didn"t see any plan to involve her on the offense side. Sides doesn't adjust on the fly, indiana need to play with high level of urgency. Grace Berger is a great defender and the best pointguard behind Clark, she can help clark to organize the offense and can defend Dewana Broner and Mabrey and have a good mid range jump shot.
40 games played this year and the defense is still bad ! I think there needs to be some defensive coaching changes in the off season also some bench changes .

Caitlin Clark today vs Sun: 11 points (4-of-17 shooting 23.5%, 2-of-13 3-pointers 15%, 1-of-2 free throws 50%), 8 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 turnovers. This is a much more physical game. The Fever didn’t do well either offense or defense. The Fever had no solution to fighting off tight defense from Sun.
Sides is not a coach. Sides needs to be fired, Dunn also. Real Coaches motivate players. Sides lost the last 4 out of 5 games, she is a train wreck, and tells her players to play with Joy and have fun playing beer pong in the locker room. I never heard a coach say go out and play with freaking Joy
2 games were against the Aces, 1 game that’s not important, 1 in the playoffs. They lost Game 1 due to poor shooting. They had open looks. 69 points for one of the best offensive team ain’t gonna win it.

Indiana will not survive a bad shooting day of Clarke (4-17; 2-13 on 3s) and the non-appearance of Smith and Temi (0 points and 3 rebounds combined in 20 mins) Fever coaches need to get these PFs more engaged in the games ahead most especially off the defensive boards in order for them to even have a chance at winning against the Sun.
Sides never countered size and aggressiveness, with, size and aggressiveness. Why not put Temi on Mabrey so her length can stop her 3s. Why not put Dantas on Bonner. So Dantas 215 pound size can stop Bonner's 140 pound skinny play in the paint.

You do know that Fagbbenle scored 0 points and had only 2 rebounds last night? Hull had some hustle plays, but she got smoked by Bonner over and over again. She is a spot up shooter. She cannot put the ball on the floor and create her own shot and her lay up attempts get blocked A LOT. She is better as a sixth man, not a starter. The Fever simply do not have enough depth or talent on the bench to beat any of these four top teams....PERIOD!! We are too reliant on CC, Kelsey and Boston (Dantas is a role player that can't rebound or play defense. Great spot up shooter. I think the Fever will get better next year and upgrade their bench. I love them, but Wednesday night will probably be it if the Sun keep playing team ball.
The only thing sides did correctly all year. sides is absolute garbage. The worst coach I have ever seen! Fever should look at all the angles of Carrington poking Clark in the eye. She points her fingers down towards her eyes in a purposeful looking manner instead of keeping her hand straight out. I thought it was accidental until I saw it from the other angle

They had a really off shooting day when in comparison, the Sun just had one of those can't miss days. Mabry was on fire - she barely missed. Any time that disaparity happens in a game, you aren't going to win. That said, the Fever likely won't be that bad next game. The Sun likely won't be that good. I won't write them off yet. That said, they are a young team playing a very good veteran team with more depth. If they lose the series, not the end of the world.

I don't know what game you watched. Lexi did great at hustling for extra rebounds, etc. But Bonner shook her out of her panties on countless plays and scored (and Bonner is 37). Lexi is a spot up shooter who gets her drive shots blocked A LOT and cannot create her own shots off the dribble (she fumbles the ball). Lexi is a sixth man, a spark off the bench (not a starter). Gabby Williams would be so much better for that starting role.

I don't claim the poke in the eye was intentional. But, I can't imagine shooting well after being poked in the eye, having a bruise and some swelling below the eye. It's got to affect aiming her shots, at the very least, in spite of what CC said. CC gets a pass from me for this game. And, it wasn't just CC, Kelsey wasn't her usual self-either... Not to mention the Sun's defensive efforts. Tough team!

They actually made a lot of mistakes in the first half but got away with them. The second half was a disaster. More mistakes, terrible 3 point shooting and they allowed the Suns to get too many gimme layups . I still wonder about Sides . I see the good coaches in the league come up with offensive and defensive schemes that are designed for specific opponents. They also make adjustments between halves. The Fever seem to run the same schemes regardless of who they are playing. Hopefully getting their asses kicked today will make the Fever come back with a great effort in game two and make the Suns over confident. Can anyone figure out what's going on with Lexie? She passed up an open 3 again today and then missed one or two. Maybe a confidence issue,

It made her tentative and threw off her vision. However as I said Clark must still find ways to be aggressive on offense. She is fast and needs to remember that she can drive to the basket, shoot midrange shots, and throw up floaters when her 3-point shots are not going in. Hopefully with 3 days of rest and film work Clark will get back to normal. I believe in her.

Caitlyn needs a mid range game to give her game more balance..She can’t expect to 30 ft jumpers to go thru the hoop like layups. She also needs mental maintenance as well.. She easily gets discouraged when her shots aren’t falling and it affects the rest of her game

Boston is barely setting up screens again, for instance. CC was sluggish and not cutting and running and moving when she was in the corner!! So lazy and frustrating! I felt like we were always on the orange side of the court: ( ... ... I feel like the team (including the Coach) is not LEARNING and EVOLVING and ADAPTING. I do think KM has evolved -- letting herself pass the ball more, and way improved D! ... All of our first 8 players are so freaking talented so I just dont get it!! I'm here for it no matter what -- and havent missed a game yet, but geesh!!

In their last game vs. Aces, they had two timeouts that could have been used to advance the ball late in the close game.
Fever’s perimeter defense is abysmal - the guards keep a foot in the paint when they shouldn’t. They go under screens instead of over them. They play drop coverage and never jam the screens. Should not happen consistently at this level.
Can't play drop coverage when the opponent is dropping bombs consistently from behind the arc.
I saw a slow motion video at an angle not shown in the broadcast during the game at a podcast today and the eye-gouging of Carrington was 1,000% purely intentional. It should have been a flagrant 2 foul but the refs as usual doesn't give a sh*t when it comes to Caitlin. The WNBA should take immediate action on this or Caitlin can file charges prior to the next game, she could have lost an eye with that dirtbag action.

THE FEVER NEEDS AN NBA COACH ASAP ! No team with Caitlin, Kelsey, Boston, and Hulls talent should be blown away to this degree. They need a strong fifth starter . Then they would have a decent bench. Dandus I would say would be the first coming off the bench to get some minutes. Fagbenli, and Smith when they’re hot they’re very good, the problem is - depending on the opposing team - they are not consistent . This might just be me, but CC hasn’t seemed herself in the past three games. Possibly since she knew she was going to be in the playoffs. This games loss is huge mentally. They’re playing a better team, and regardless of what she says ,the stress has to be overwhelming.
CC needs to find a way to relax before these big games. The last two big games ( this one, and the one against the Aces) she has come out to wound up and not shot the ball well. Maybe meditate or find something that relaxes her. She should take up golf, then she would learn how to deal with being frustrated and things not going her way

It was a game where Connecticut of some reasons was better. It does not mean anything more than that. Fever can win against any other team if they have a good day. I think Fever already are the winner, to play in the Play-off is above what I expected.

This is great experience for the team. Big improvement over last year, and big improvements during the season this year. Still too inconsistent.
