Beams take shit ton of energy. One time Ultraman Jack spam all the beams he knows out of desperation, his color timer becomes red right away after that and it didn't even do a thing to that particular monster, he even lost that fight. - Fire random shit can become a mistake, sometimes It's good to measure their opponent's capacity first, what the enemy can do, how strong they are. They can use the physical fight to test it. Remember Ultraman fire his beam at Zetton out of desperation even though he wasn't weakened at all. Zetton absorbed that shit, fire back and killed Ultraman.
