Toshiie's relationship with Hideyoshi and Katsuie in this game made absolute nonsense if you knew their historical background, especially by the time Battle of Okehazama took place: - Katsuie: only just entered service under Nobunaga after being pardoned for serving and aiding Nobunaga's rebellious younger brother Nobuyuki in the latter's rebellion. - Hideyoshi: was a peasant. His first real battle after he got promoted into samurai was Siege of Inabayama where the "one-night castle" thing happened, which would be sometime after Okehazama. No records of Hideyoshi by the time of Okehazama, but he was likely just a mid-ranked official/magistrate in Nobunaga's court where Nobunaga grew to like him and got him promoted. - Toshiie: had served Nobunaga longer than the above two. He's even on the opposing side from Katsuie during the latter's service under Nobuyuki. If Toshiie respected Katsuie at all, it'd only be because Katsuie is much older than thim. Other than that, Toshiie wouldn't consider himself as part of "Devil Shibata's Army", much less a protege under a former rebel. Also, in particular, I can't see how a peasant who just got promoted like Hideyoshi would dare to say something like "I'm on my way up to the world. If you want, I can take you with me" to a long-time, and higher-ranked, samurai like Toshiie. It's only after Azai's dowfall that Hideyoshi became an actual _daimyō_ and gained an equal ground with Toshiie, if not outright outranked him. In any case, Hideyoshi definitely had outperformed Toshiie by the time Nobunaga sent Hideyoshi as Oda commander for the war against Mōri just sometime before Honnōji. Toshiie's conflicting loyalty between Hideyoshi and Katsuie pretty much only actually happened during Shizugatake. This game exaggerated that aspect of conflicting loyalty by making it a thing for the entirety of Toshiie and Katsuie's story modes. Historically, Toshiie only briefly considered to side with Katsuie during Shizugatake, but his wife Matsu convinced him to side with Hideyoshi instead because by that point Hideyoshi had far outperformed both Toshiie and Katsuie and if he could take out Katsuie, he definitely could take out Toshiie, too, so it's better for the Maeda clan to be on Hideyoshi's good side.
Katsuie in XL you can say just a changed character, a kind of replacement for the old one, in the original and Toshie Maeda was an ordinary officer, and in xl he became a character, you can say patches and changes
After all, Oda Nobunaga made Ashikaga Yoshiaki into the brand new Shogun after the march to Kyoto and Nobunaga gets to pull the Shogun’s strings and call the shots behind the scenes

The problem of SW2 XL is they made like 2 different characters of katsuie. He's completly different from SW2 original
Katsuie in XL you can say just a changed character, a kind of replacement for the old one, in the original and Toshie Maeda was an ordinary officer, and in xl he became a character, you can say patches and changes

Apparently lol. It's one of the two you can get from Survival Mode.
In European terms, this is basically like having the king as your bodyguard while being just a knight.

Nobunaga’s VA in 2 was kinda awful. Which sucks because his design in 2 was better than 1.

Nobunaga in sw1 is worse, he's too indept on taking the "Demon King" persona. And the SW 2 seiyuu took it more into a slightly strategist part
