In this episode, we conduct a complete load development on Hornady's new cartridge, the 22 ARC. Dave Kiff from Pacific Tool and Gauge custom-built the rifle using his Drakkar action.
You probably have the most comprehensive shooting channel on YT. Your in-depth shooting, load development coupled with real hands-on narration makes this channel one I really enjoy watching.
Hello Jeremiah, I was saddened to hear of Mike's passing. I know you were very close to him and shared your platform with him. May God bless his family and you in this very difficult time. ✝️🕊
Ha Ha they are both popular I think I like the ARC a little better than the Creedmoor for my own purposes but they both have their pros and cons for sure. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah
Enjoy watching your videos, and the reloading techniques and info. So you were using only the Garmin in this video? I'm also currently waiting on my first issue of Hand loader magazine, looking forward to checking it out.✌🏻
I have run the 22 Grendel for a few years. I have been converting Starline 6.5 Grendel brass and found that after sizing the neck thickness ended up between 15 and 16 thousands. I was having horrible results (wild SD/ES, non-repeating grouping and quite a few crushed cases when seating) until I neck turned them down to 11.5-12 thousands. Have you seen the thick necks after necking down the Lapua brass?
Nice video! That looks like a fun cartridge. Great, now I need to add one (or more) to my collection. 🤣 Regarding the pressure limits between an AR platform versus a bolt gun, is the pressure lower in the AR due to barrel dimensions or is it due to excessive gas? If it's due to excessive gas, could a handloader approach bolt gun pressures in an AR if they have an adjustable gas block to throttle down the gas?
It’s because of the bolt face used. There is a fear off shearing off the bolt lugs. It was the same with the Grendel. (22 arc is just a necked down Grendel) If you do a search I believe there is 2 companies (can’t remember which ones) that make a beefed up bolt that allow you to run higher pressures.
I suppose you pronounce Coues Deer as "Cows" Deer too, which allegedly is the correct pronunciation, but everyone, including me, pronounce it the way it is spelled. It just sounds better I guess!
Almost went with a leopold but got the razor lht for my waypoint and only fault is illumination flickers and wind hood dots you really can’t use except maybe in full power. Man that’s a good lookin rifle J..im like you and always lookin to improve on whatever cartridge I’m into basically. Saw some 35gr v max on midway and may try some in my ar as the 40gr I have shoot awsome and fastest I’ve been able to make from a 16”@ 3390-3400fps usin h335..btw is killer powder I now know..also h380 recently tried works good in my .308s as I’m sure you know. Good to see ya ol friend..🫲matt

@@wildnorthadventures, good to know. Thanks for the quick reply!
Interesting but no 22-250R Cheers from Australia
Nice…❤️🔥🇺🇸
😊
Did you get any blown primers with the factory 75 gr black ammo? I’ve got an. AR platform in 22 arc and 16/20 cases had blown ( pierced) primers
If you reload try federal 205 M AR primers
No coyote gun like the 220 Swift.
Yes, I know, the coyotes don't know the difference.
How come nobody can pronounce Lapua correctly.
Lap-pwah! Howzzatt? 😐

@@bustabass9025 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nobody cares that your copying the legendary 22-250 for some bullshit cartridge.
