      LOL so much of DLP felt American to me, it was uh odd to fly that far to just be in American themed places lol. But other than Hotel New York there is: Newport Bay Club, basically their Beach Club so kind of northeast themed to me; Hotel Cheyenne (seems like American "wild west" themed); Sequoia Lodge (American National Parks themed); Hotel Santa Fe (Route 66 themed); and Davy Crockett Ranch. I mean... it's all fairly American! LOL

      @@PixieDustPhD hahaha 🤣 yeah what the hey hey…it’s like mini United States but in Paris!! 🤪 appreciate the info! ℹ️ is there big trees in sequoia? And Newport as in like Rhode Island?

      @@SuperMar10GalaxyBro Haha yes good point about the Cars theme integration. I'm not sure about more intense theming elements like trees, etc., as we didn't go walk around the other resorts ourselves. The pictures make it look very woodsy and nice though!

    This is really nice. I don't exactly understand what Marvel is and what it has to do with Disney. It's just another animation company that Disney bought outright? When did they do this? It seems to occupy a lot of physical and intellectual space in the Disney-sphere these days. It seems like a nice theming upgrade to the Hotel New York, which in prior had just been themed to the city itself. Ironic, as the major complaint about WDW resorts is that the theming quotient is going down, right? I'd stay here, although my primary interest is still the Hotel Cheyenne, which seems so different to me. I've read and heard that it's supposed to evoke a set design of the Old West, and not just the Old West itself. But I think you did it right. Always assume you'll return, but live like you won't!

      So Marvel is a massive entertainment company, primarily built on comics. Like Spider-Man is Marvel. Disney bought Marvel back in 2009 I think (maybe 2008? It's been a while). And since then they've done a ton of super hero movies (the "Marvel Cinematic Universe" or MCU) -- mostly live action stuff. Iron Man, Spider Man, Thor, Black Panther, etc. They do have some animated shorts and Marvel has animated tv shows (more for kids I think), etc. But I mean mostly nowadays its a comic company and then the MCU is primarily live action movies and now shows on Disney+. It makes a lot of money LOL.
      I don't dislike Marvel but Im not like a huge fan by any means. A simply "New York" themed hotel could've been cool, but I also enjoyed the integration of this IP. I didn't realllllyy love the giant Spider Man art right next to the bed, felt like he was watching me hahaha but that's probably just a "me" quirk.
      It's funny to me how most (all?) of the hotels seem themed to some aspect of America. New York, Newport Bay (if not Rhode Island itself then at least that sort of bougie east coast beach vibe), route 66, the old west, etc haha. Definitely weird being in France and feeling so not in France, but it was a nice hotel and I'm happy with our choice!

    ❤ - So, do you think it’s worth the price? Or would you consider staying at one of the less expensive ones if you were ever going to return? We’ve only been once to DLP and stayed at Davy Crockett. We did not like it overall and had something stolen from the room. Plus it was just too far. We would want to be walking distance next time.

      Oh goodness do I think it's worth the price? LOL. I wish we had booked earlier and saved uh a considerable amount (if you watched my planning/complaining video you saw the dynamic hotel pricing.... rates had jumped almost 50% by the time we booked unfortunately). I am absolutely glad we did it. If we ever go back I personally probably would pay to stay at the Disneyland Hotel or maybe the Marvel hotel again. I'm less inclined to stay at Marvel again just because I find staying in the same place a bit boring, but ya Disneyland Hotel or Newport Bay (I think probably not quite as close as Marvel but still very close). I REALLY value being able to easily walk to and from the parks though; hence my WDW Bay Lake Tower home resort contract. So I think it always just comes down to how much disposable income do you have for a trip and what matters to you most? Some people may rather spend more to get the premiere access ultimate skip the line situation than a hotel that's nearby; I am not that person lol.
      Oh gosh something was stolen from your room?! That's awful, wow. I've never had that happen before anywhere, and to hear that from a Disney property is especially disheartening.

    Can you enter and leave through the terrace door? Are you given a key for it? Or do you need to enter and exit through the main room door?

    • @PixieDustPhD
      @PixieDustPhD  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Short answer: not really. You don't get a key. It's like a floor to ceiling set of windows that's actually a door; the handle is on the inside and nothing on the outside (like from the outside it just looks like a big set of windows imo, not a door).
      You could leave from your terrace door and just leave your door unlocked I suppose. I would not take that risk personally. This specific room was super close to a hallway with a door just like this that led straight out to security. So leaving the room to get to the parks was wicked fast. That door though I couldn't figure out how to get back in through? it was like the terrace door where there wasn't a handle on the outside, and it opened outward (as in if you were inside the hotel hallway it opened out, so if you were outside you'd need to pull it to open). Maybe we just missed an obvious way to open this door lol but when we were coming back from the theme parks we did go back in the main entrance and not this side hallway exit. I hope that's helpful!
