Lets hope. Stg Rock has the potential. I read so many good stories with him and he deserves the spotlight. Also let's hope for a good future for Jonah Hex
Thank you Jenna, the entire internet needed this video 😂 cause a majority of us don't know who this character is and just know the clipnotes version of his story.
I really hope you follow up on that "video for another day" cause I am so so curious as to how Guadagnino and Kuritzkes could explore the themes of Sgt. Rock and honestly, what on earth could've gotten them interested in a project like this.
Im always down for obscure characters because imo usually their stuff is a bit different and that makes it better. Im really excited for the DCU. Im excited the most to see Green Lantern in any capacity, im excited for that show as well.
Sgt rock gotta have a movie but I maybe kinda want him ti travel through time with the easy company to different wars and just be a good force of war but i wouldn't mind a more close and personal story I have heard about Sgt rock a year ago now and I have no clue about the character but I was excited to know there's actual war heroes in DC comics
I prefer if they cast Alan Ritchson as Sgt. Rock as he has the built and height and if you guys watched the Reacher TV Series, he's bad ass and would fit perfectly for Sgt. Rock.
In a weird way, my own initial reaction of disinterest to the notion of a Sgt. Rock movie makes me interested in it. It just kind of loops back around to "well, then it has something to prove". I'm interested to see if being set in the DCU and all that can come with that would make me care about a movie about a member of the U.S. Military. I'd also be curious about the maturity with which it tackles still-relevant anti-Nazi messaging, because it's very easy to just fall into "the enemy is bad because they're not us" instead of actually going into what makes the Nazi ideology as bad as it is, and how people are seduced by it, even to this day.
Not gonna lie, I was pretty underwhelmed by the news of this movie, but your insight has kinda changed my mind! Definitely wouldn’t be my top pick for DC to make, but the world war 2 era DC character Easter eggs + commentary on queerness and masculinity in the army would be super interesting!!
Imagine, some five to seven years from now, Luca Guadagnino's Sgt. Rock film gets some Oscar nominations.

When I was small I had stg action figures and read allot of Sgt Rick comics I can't wait to see this great video Jenna
Omg i forgot all about the haunted tank lol they can totally put that into the movie
I really want this to be true as a fan of the 80s run. I can't help but feel that this won't happen. Very thoughtful presents for your BF.
I would love to see adapted Animal Man. The run made by Grant Morrison is epic❤
: D Love How The New DCU Is Like Mostly C And D-listers
I hope Jonah hex gets a one off movie about his life during the civil war and how what he did affected him after

Surprised you didn't feature Joe Kubert. He's essential here.

It could be elseworld so they could like have more creative freedom and realistic take without in a fictional universe
I'd like a Nia DaCosta Vixen or Zatanna film
I still don't get why this has to be made in the context of a superhero property, it seems so random and out of place narratively.
It's a different genre
Also DC is not just a superhero company like Marvel
DC has variety of genre books for different demographics
Superhero, horror, isekai, seinen, psychology, fairy tale and fantasy
