I’d like to point out something about Brock. If you compare Saul and Walt’s interaction with him, Saul actually treats him well. He literally gets down to Brock’s level and engages him, making him laugh, smiling. Compare this to Walt who awkwardly says hi introduces himself and basically does nothing else. Despite being a father himself, SAUL is the one who is better with a kid. It’s one of the few moments in this show that showcases the humanity Saul actually has, that will be further expanded in Better Call Saul

Bad analysis ngl. Saul and walts humanity are practically on the same level. He has a kid himself so he knows how it works and he gave Brock the right amount of poison to where it wouldnt hurt him. Just did what he had to do the same thing saul does. Their different interactions with brock is more a showcase of personality, not an interaction with a random kid to define the character

The sad truth is that Walter is extremly good at taking facts and using them for his own end like with Ted because that did really happen and now he can use it to his advantage. And while Walter already kinda proved that he is better than Gus by killing him he now wants to really nail it down by being better than him in basically every way. Just like a lust for vengence and needless sadism was Gus's weakness Walters is definatley his arrogans and need to prove himself to well himself if noone else.

This episode was definitely a major showing of proof that Walt can’t use his family, or anyone else as his excuse for cooking anymore. It only becomes more apparent later on too!
I feel so bad for Jesse and Skyler. Walter essentially being abusive to both of them. Perhaps in two different ways, but he still essentially treats them like his personal property, to use them however he so desires.
It still honestly baffles me how some people take Walt’s side knowing Walt abuses the people around him so much, and leaves them in such shit, particularly at this point of the show.
I honestly don’t understand why some people hate Skyler more at this point, when Walter literally abuses her. I don’t know if anyone has brought up the family card, but at this point, Skyler is the one who cares more about the family than Walter does.
You summed it up perfectly. Walt’s doing this for personal satisfaction, more ego boosts. Walt’s ego is so massive, I honestly think Walt sees himself as God himself.
Seeing Jesse try to be the mediator between Walter and Mike, and Walter deliberately manipulating Jesse for his own personal gain, he takes advantage of Jesse’s loyalty time and again. I feel he wants Jesse to be loyal to him, and ONLY him.
Every scene with Walter so far, after he killed Gus, and after it was revealed he was the one who poisoned Brock, has been nothing short of shivering to say the least! Like I said before, we’ve already seen Walt sink so low at this point, how much further can he possibly sink? The saddest thing is that Walter probably still has this “I cAn’T bE tHe baD gUy” mentality.
But pretty much every scene with Walter in Season 5 so far has been absolutely blood curdling! It feels like no one is safe from him. Not even the professionals, or even his own family!
Great reaction as always! Already excited for the rest of the season!

How often has Walter ever taken the time to appreciate Saul? He’s only ever thanked him once! Only time I recall him showing Saul the respect he deserves for what Saul does for him.
It also honestly baffles me how Walt has the gall to somehow think that Saul is a worse person than he himself is.

This whole series is about the transformation of a man. The good, bad, and ugly. You have to embrace them all. And it makes you uncomfortable, and that’s the entire point. No one thinks Walt is doing this for his family anymore. We all know it’s his own ambition. To love and hate someone at the same time is a classic theme in really good literature. That’s what makes this show so satisfying. ❤

I always side with Walt on the paying off of Gus's/Mike's Guys... We've seen one guy - Dennis who was solid and harmless but for all Walt knows some of these guys were aware Gus wanted to kill Walt & could have been on the security detail and could even be the two guys literally in HIS HOUSE waiting to murder him and now he has to pay them to keep quiet? It'd make anyone's blood boil.
And yeah Jesse's such a stand up guy offering his share of the money, he doesn't care - This is the guy that without Walt was a complete nobody, has no motive to be cooking up one of the most destructive drugs imaginable other than monetary gain and would never have seen anything close to this amount of money without Walt, he almost screwed up the first meeting with Gus and almost sabotaged the first deal, he is the sole reason Gus & Walt's relationship originally broke down - Walt saved his life, as we go further on - Mike was talking nonsense here, and let's see how solid these guys he 'vetted with great care' are, not to mention he seemingly has completely forgotten how Gus & Walts relationship broke down in the first place and is all buddy buddy with Jesse now. Jesse's money getting stolen could have put them all away. Mike wanted to off the guy and said as much to Gus... and was literally going to murder Walt, which Walt let go...
People are so fixated on Walt's [cleary and obvious] ego but when you look at things from his POV it's not that black & white. I have a lot of other points to clarify this but can't make them without posting spoilers but keep it in mind. Mike's actions later on in the show & his 'honour among theives/man of your word spiel is quickly thrown out of the window when it truly comes down to true self interest and one particular speech show him to be virtually suffering amnesia in forgetting HOW and WHY Walt & Gus's relationship broke down and that Gus detested Jesse, and respected Walt. [JESSE] Not hating on Mike, absolutely in top 3 characters for me.
