Back then they didn’t have drones so they filmed from a helicopter which made this performance iconic. They said that they couldn’t hear their own voices bc of the helicopter which is so impressive

Genie is in my Top 5 favorite SNSD songs of all time. Fun fact about Genie; this is actually a demo of a song called “I Just Wanna Dance”. The first performance is definitely around “PARTY/Lion Heart” era{ and I almost got to see it but things got in the way}. So Genie would be a huge era. They would get 3 wins for this song{2 on Inkigayo and one on Music Bank], which brings their total of wins on music shows to 32 wins and the album would end up selling 50,000 copies in the first week, almost doubling their first week sales. This song was also apart of their Japanese debut in 2010, along with “Gee” and “Run Devil Run” and the Japanese public loved Genie so much that they got a couple awards there for that song too. They would also open up almost all of their concerts{ with the exception of PHANTIASIA, where Genie was the second song they performed, and Girls and Peace where Genie would be performed in the second part of the concert}. They actually opened Long Lasting Love, which was their 15th anniversary fanmeet with “Genie” and that was a moment. There are so many iconic “Genie” performances that you haven’t seen yet. Oh and their Variety stuff is top notch hilarious.
