What is your opinion about new sso graphics or maybe you prefer old ones? In my opinion old game's graphics looked more realistic, for example: grass, trees, rocks, sky and other things. Also old views are so nostalgic, because I'm playing this game since 2012. It would be really cool if star stable team would change nowadays appearance into similar like before.

I think what I like about old starstable is that it felt realistic like, It was full of tons of flora and so much to look at. Which was nice because it felt like a fantasy world.
New starstable looks better but feels empty and lack luster. Like I remember being really upset over the new updated areas because of the amount of areas that just look empty, no bushes, no trees, just empty negative space. Which isnt pretty to look at
Exactly. The old graphics felt mysterious and exactly how jorvik should feel... now that is gone because of the empty spaces. There are no more cool details and easter eggs.

The places nowadays feel empty and too polished to have any sort of realism to it. It's a shame, no wonder I quit many years ago :(

I love the old graphics the most because of they are more realistic and because of the nostalgia ofc
I miss old golden hills sm it seemed more well golden and the yellow/gold grass made it so unique I loved it
The light and grass was more “soft”, It was really nice looking. I wish they didn’t change it...
Star Stable graphics never became better, they just became more cartoony 😔
And plus, I swore it lost color. 🙁

this made me remember just how saturated and fun star stable was. i feel like the new style killed sso’s uniqueness and quirks. the old graphics weren’t perfect, but they made the game. most importantly, they created an environment. it felt alive - the music, the bloom effect, the loud colors. the new style is bland, it has already been seen. the biggest offender will always be golden hills valley. the area is so much more dry now. scared for dino valley… especially after how bland the winter village was.

To be fair, it was really outdated and would be impossible for new players. The one thing that made me angry though was them changing silverglade village to be like a town and not a walled one.

The old ones are way better. So much more realistic. I really miss those. I wish SSO would open up a "Retro" server with the old graphics on .

I have no problem with how cartoony the graphics look, and I understand why they made it that way. But I don't like the color they used for the grass, bushes and leaves. Everything is so deep green and blueish, I wish the grass was brighter, it feels kinda lifeless with the dark grass. They removed so much of the flowers, foliage and little details, I miss them, made everything look more unique. I also don't understand why they needed to completely change areas like Moorland, Steves, and Dolye's Abbey, couldn't they just...update the graphics without changing everything beyond recognition? And also, remember when Golden Hills used to be actually golden? I don't hate the new style, I just hate how many unnecessary changes the SSO Team made.
i agree! these days i kind of don't understand the color and design choices but the style itself is cool and very alive compared to how it was before (no bugs flying etc) i just wish the colors weren't as stong bcd i unironically get headaches from playing
this would fit so much with the everywhere at the end of time song, the graphics changed so much that they dont even feel like how they used to be. it doesnt feel like star stable at all anymore
I think there is still hope to get our game back if we do something together about this
I feel so old now..I miss the old SSO. Everything looked cooler and more realistic. The new graphic is pretty in places, but it's not the same.

i can see the new graphics lack reeds and the bushes are too small. the old graphics had various sizes of bush, now we have all the same little bushes plastered everywhere

Coming from someone who's been playing for 9 years, I do miss the less saturated graphics a bit, but the newer ones do hold more realism they colors are just over saturated making it look like kinda clay, and those pictures are blurred with a yellow film over it. I will say that I don't like the new Steve's farm tho, and the riding hall needs work
I feel like if they kept star stables original dark fantasy art direction along with updating the textures/models they could've really had something.... it's like the style took a complete 180 😭 and not for the better. that bloom effect was so pretty too....
Well, I can agree with you that old graphics looks better, "grass are greener, sky is bluish" but they are a little bit blurred.
They hid the ugly models behind the bloom and had luck people thought it was an aesthetic made on purpose...
I just keep yelling, “I remember that!” I especially remember the silver glade one! Agghhh memories!

I understand missing some aspects of the old, however I love how golden leaves was updated. It's legit my favorite area, and I couldn't spend alot of time there before because the gold yellow atmosphere effect gave me bad headaches. I'm really happy with how it's been updated. I will say though, with other areas itd be nice if they extended the color pallet to include oranges, browns, and yellow greens. Its beautiful everywhere, but it's just too green, it feels sterile.

Oh the old graphics, the nostalgia! Today I've been playing a bit of 'The Spring Riders' a star stable game released even before star stable online. If you want to experience the old feeling I recommand playing it. Eleanor Nightwalker has links to download it and also an explanation about how to download them. I really loved feeling that old feeling again. That game actually makes me more enthousiastic than sso now. The equestrian festival isn't that impressive eihter, just new items, horses and the same races with updated look also recycled activities like finding the animals. I'll play the quest with Sabine next week, that is probably going to be the good thing about this festival. She looks damn good!!

I may be one of the new players in so but I did play before sliverglade village was updated. Looking at all these pictures I kinda wish we still had the old graphics... Especially for golden hills valley.

i also preferred the old graphics, however i feel if they didnt update it we'd be complaining because it looks old. either way, we're not gonna like the outcome. i feel its nice theyve decided to update, even though the old starstable was more unique. it does hold lots of memories, and the nostalgia we feel when going back to moorland stables is priceless. yes, it used to be prettier and the game used to be more fun, but i think its time to make new memories and just accept the fact its changing. in years to come, the noobs we see in moorland now will be complaining because theyve updated it even more, it's an endless cycle haha. i just think we need to move on, of course we still keep those cherished moments from when we first started playing, but if you look at it on a positive note, youll realise just how far theyve come, and how youve grown as a person:)

I do think the new style is a lot more solid and looks better, but they did get rid of a lot of extra foliage and it now looks flat and empty.
The old graphics were so much better. A lot of people say that they were more realistic, but in itself that was never the goal of sso, it's mainly because before they didn't have the means to create a style that suited them. But the old graphics were more alive, more saturated, they were more magical. Those of now are certainly more beautiful, but they are pale, less magical. Sorry for the translation errors i'm french
came back to it after 3 years. i was so upset, they made it so bad. not saying i dont like the new maps, but its everything else. there was so much room for ACTUAL improvement, but they made it soo much worse with all the new functions and character designs overall. even the games screen layout if u know what i mean..idk how to explain. but now i dont think ill ever login ever again.

Everyone Is always saying that the opd sso is betterbl and I know It was Lovely!! (I'm an og) but It changed alot and they groe so much!:)
OMG I've only been playing sso for a few months so I haven't seen it. the old sso looked more realistic but I definitely prefer the new ones. when I wrote something wrong, it was through the XD translator
personally, i like the new graphics. the old graphics, as ‘realistic’ as they are, are way too soft for me.. like they’re fuzzy.. you know?
