Love the vintage with modern. Nice looking, green is cool. Keep up with the modern reviews, very good idea. Thanks again for your time putting this video together.
Nice video, man ! We really have the time to discover the watch with you. I particulary appreciate the mention of the double gaskets. That's the kind of detail in the video that makes it different from other reviews, as you share your knowledge as a watchmaker 👍
Thank you very much for the great review. I received my second replacement for the Super Antarctic last week. The third one sent still has issues with the crown and lume. QC and customer support are poor. Would love to see more modern watch reviews.
Great video! Nivada Grenchen made some very cool watches & it's good to see them brought back. The dial on the vintage version looks smaller than the new one in the video, is that the case? I've got a vintage chronomaster branded as an Austin Premier & always on the lookout for another vintage Nivada to add to the collection!
They do! And it's great to see a watch company reissuing their vintage models using similar dimension as well! The dial diameter is actually .5mm wider than the modern version! Vintage is 28.5mm and modern is 28.0mm. If you study carefully, the bezel is a slight bit broader on the modern. :-D Thank you for your comment!
Missing info: 1. The dial diameter on the vintage is 28.5mm, and the modern version is 28.0. The modern version has a broader bezel. 2. The set of hands on the vintage are later replacements. They are not genuine set. ...... just curious as to why you would change the date on the watch while its hands were at the 12:24 position when most would only do this with hands further advanced to ensure no damage is caused to the date function mechanism ....... nice watches though ...... both of them ..........
Good question. Many modern made movement are made differently. The date driving wheel has a flexible spring, and the quick set date only works in clockwise direction. Also, just to be safe, try to use the quick set when the time is 12pm instead of 12am. Don’t forget one full day requires 24hrs. So if I am activating the quick set at 12:24pm, there is no need to worry about damaging the movement.
Too much packaging, the colour on the dial looks like a sweet wrapper, the orange faux lume on the hands and the fake lume on the indecies gon't match. The graphics are infantile on the other models. What a truly terrible looking watch. The funniest thing tho is the helium escape valve, the idea that any SAT diver in the history of planet, in any ocean ever said, " I know fuck Omega, I need a Nivada Pac Man.....🤣🤣💀🤣🤣💀 I should add I love your stuff but this watch is a literal joke, I actually laughed out loud. Also, How MUCh?!
Thank you for the comment and sharing your thoughts. Unfortunately, there is no that one perfect watch in the market that will satisfy the requirement of everyone. :-P
@@TimelessHistoryChannel True, I must say I feel those few details I complained about on the review model don't extend to your vintage one, which is much more elegant, and as for the sub, yup, Im a supercase hater too so your point is well made.
"Too much packaging"? You're pretty much scrambling for any silly reason to put the watch down. Ok! We get it, you don't like the watch but you could at least make an attempt to include a little constructive criticism other than having a hissy fit via the written word. Most watch snobs get to be somewhat infantile in their excitement to be heard but your silliness has made my day as l needed a good laugh. I have owned this watch for two years and being an avid diver it has become my sole wrist tool to accompany me. It's unobtrusive due to it's size, extremely legible (uncluttered 'PAC Man' dial) and the fact that it was and is made to withstand 100 atmos it is no joke. I don't go deep so the gas release is unused but being capable of attaining the depth the watch is possible of that feature would be necessary. There is nothing whatsoever lacking with this tool watch and the only joke here is your review of it.
Hello omega enthusiast! i would like to ask you something couse you are a collector with knowledge i enjoy your videos!👍🏻, do you know what’s the model or reference of the vintage omega than ryan gosling wore in “la la land” film?🕰👀
Hi, I believe he has two different ones. I made a video on one of them. You can find it on my channel, just search "Ryan Gosling Omega" and it should show up. The other one that he wore, I lost my record. But it was from the US collection. It's the gold one.
I found it. It is under model P6538 made for the US collection. Sold this one a while back: www.omegaenthusiastltd.com/product-page/1951-omega-14k-solid-gold-watch

Ah sorry to hear that. I’m surprised to hear that. Hope this will be the last time that you need to return it.
Interesting review, good info/comparison, thanks!
Many thanks!
Great idea to critique new watches in comparison with their vintage counterparts
Thank you! Hope to have more importantly like this.

What came first the center second or the sub second hand .
For Omega? Sub second.

@@TimelessHistoryChannel nodate sub ?
Are you comparing to the modern one? If yes, someone is going to dislike the lume indexes, or probably something to do with its size and thickness.
