Lay ho ma, Wil! I gave some of your delicious chili oil to my daughters last Christmas and now, whenever they stop in for a visit, they bring the empty bottles so that I will refill them. They really love your chili oil and I think we've started a new holiday trend. Thank you!
Thank you so much, Wil! Your chili oil recipe in pretty bottles for holiday gifts is absolutely perfect! Exactly what I'd been looking for to make for homemade gifts to give. ♥
Dear Wil, I loved the idea of making hot chili oil as a gift for friends this Christmas, I will start making some today! Thank you for all the wonderful and delicious recipes you’ve shared this year. They’ve really brought a lot of joy to my year. Wishing you a joyful holiday season!
Great gift! Along with your books! I love giving away homemade gifts, I normally make my own salsa in small jars and give it away for the holiday season.
It was quite interesting that you chose to post this because yesterday I purchased a few glass bottles similar to the ones you displayed. My intent is to make a few versions of your chili oil recipe to add to my own collection of cooking essentials. 💖💖
Will, hehe in my small Spanish village and on Amazon….to buy Avocado oil one needs to speak to the banker first. What other oil could I use for this Chile oil?
Chef, thank you for sharing this recipe. I will certainly be using this. I will take this opportunity to say that your videos are so well presented and you speak with such clairity; thank you 😊
What a brilliant idea for holiday gifts for my neighbors. I always like to give something homemade in my kitchen and this is a going to be something very different, but I know very appreciated! BTW, I do have the same question about Allepo pepper as I have a lot of it currently. Thank you!
That picture of cooking oil is a masterpiece. A triumph! That would be truly loved in our house. I make chili oil all the time, but, those bottles take it to another level.
Darnit I thought you were selling them by the bottle! Lol. I had made your chili oil before and it was soo good!! I've been too lazy to make it again but it went so fast. But a great idea for my husband who keeps asking for me to make it.
Hello Will, Thank you so much for all of your videos! I watch them every week and love how you present the food and encourage others to cook as well. Your chilli oils are a perfect gift! Happy Holidays and wishing you lots more success in the new year! Laara in Canada
Merry Christmas Wil.. always loved your chili oil so was thrilled to see your latest video. Loved that everything went into the pot and after pouring it through a fine strainer.. it is beautifully clear. I did run to IKEA to buy the cute bottles. Thank you once again.. Lynn Vancouver 🇨🇦
Wil, I mad this oil for my friends for Christmas and they have all said they love it!!! I'm so glad to see this video and am absolutely ADDICTED to the oil :)
Thank you for this. I've been dealing with a bunch of medical stuff & haven't been able to keep up with my usual home made holiday gifts. This looks like a beautiful & quick option - and bonus - I have an IKEA about 20 minutes from home, so I can even grab the bottles when I get the fresh ingredients!
They look so pretty in the cute little bottles, very festive for this time of year and in my way of thinking a nicer and thoughtful present. No sure if I’m brave enough to taste or try making the hot oil, but I do admire that you weren’t wearing any gloves when cutting up the scotch bonnets.
I don't have Gochugaru where I live as well. I'm using any "hot" pepper flakes available. If you don't like it very spicy, use some Pul Biber for extra color.
You know there is spicy and very spicy, I mean hot and very hot versions of pul biber in Turkey :)) There are varieties. But I guess using them in this recipe would be fine.

Hi Will! Absolutely Love your videos! Its ASMR for me 😊 I have been looking forward to making some of this oil for awhile now... But i did not know you used avocado oil.. i am highly allergic and so is my husband! My next go to would habe been olive oil! What do you suggest thats natural? ( I refuse to use " vegetable oil" its so unhealthy) I love coconut oil but its not the right flavor for every dish .
I make your earlier version all the time. It’s a family favourite. It has Szechuan peppers crushed, in it. However, I’ve started leaving them whole as they have a grit to them. I suppose straining the oil would be better. I also add a pinch of salt. Love your recipes.
the color is very nice ... I'm guessing it would taste amazing on noodles or bread. I can just see this going very wrong for me when transferring it from the pot to a container.
This is a nice new twist! I've made the previous interation with Szechuan peppercorns and love it. I may give this a shot. Have been using the fine ground gochujaru and was filtering it out with a very fine fabric filter. I was keeping that leftover paste and using it in various applications. My last trip to the Asian market was a success in finding the coarse ground. Excited to use it and to see how the texture changes! Thank you over and over for all the inspiration and amazing content. All the best from Portland OR. ❤ Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Hi, Wil! Guess who made her own personal stash of Wil's Chili Oil today? I used your original recipe and love it - but I'm happy to see you change it up a little bit, too - some people do love it spicier than others! Thanks so much - and happiest of holidays! =]
Will another great episode. When I had an account in Toronto we would frequent the Thai establishment called Salad King. When ordering you would tell them how many chilies being 1 - 20. I only made it to 4 and my mouth was on fire. I do appreciate spicy. Happy Holidays to you.
This is a wonderful gift idea! I love this chili oil and the recipient will too. I'll just leave out the scotch bonnets - or give a fire extinguisher as a gift 🤭 Liebe Grüße aus Bayern 🤗
@@christinecummings1020 I would say that the majority of the flavor of any chili oil comes more from the other ingredients (garlic, scallions, peppers, etc.) than the oil itself as long as you don't use a pungent oil like olive, coconut or sesame seed
Stellar!!!! Mine is all made gift wrapped and ready to go!! My friend always makes me a vegan German stollen. And all they ask for is your smoky spicy chili oil!! ❤

Hahah, ooops! Sorry for that 🤣 Glad to hear just how much they are enjoying
I absolutely LOVE your voice! It's so low key and soothing as you explain how to prepare food.
YES!!!! I was going to comment the same thing. I will cook anything if he's telling me how to do it. 😍
Beautiful colors of the oil ❤❤
Mesmerizing 😍
What do you use to keep your knives so sharp?
I couldn't find you on BlueSky, but I shared your video there. The people there definitely needed to be introduced to your cooking "show." ❤🍁
You are hands down the best chef! Thank you for your videos!!
Wow, that is very kind of you! Keep well 🙌🏻
Will, I made your chili 🌶️ oil and it was the best that I added to everything. It’s all gone now so perfect time to make some more ❤❤❤

Will, hehe in my small Spanish village and on Amazon….to buy Avocado oil one needs to speak to the banker first. What other oil could I use for this Chile oil?
I use canola oil for my chili oil. It is cheaper than the other oils and has no "flavor" that can overpower your spices.
You can use any neutral oil with a high smoke point.
@@squeaker717 Thanks.
@@djoscartj Thanks.
That's so very true here in NZ also, although avocado is plentiful in this area, but the oil so very expensive
This looks yummy. Can I use it with a salad? What do you recommend
That sounds amazing!

Depends where you are located - we purchase ours at Walmart

This is amazing!! What pepper do you recommend if I can’t find scotch bonnet??
You really can’t go wrong - even jalapeño works 👌🏻 It’s fun to play around with various levels of heat
Can one use peanut oil?

Can Aleppo pepper be used in this recipe? Cause I cannot find gochugaru pepper in Turkey. I love your recipes by the way ❤

I've made the chili oil with grape seed oil, which has almost no flavor or color. So all the flavors and the red color pop.

I would love to get chili oil for the holiday!
