Wharehouses don't need to and should not be placed close to your houses. The way distribution in Anno works is that as long as the goods are in a warehouse they will be available to the population through the market. Regardless of distance. So basically, the warehouses are able to distribute anything they store to anywhere in the island. Also, building warehouses in residential neighborhoods wastes potential housing space. It's better to build industry and farms away from population centers because they also produce pollution and are undesirable for people to live around.
I'm not super concerned about having the most efficient setup. I'm more interested in building a city as I think it would develop so we may end up with warehouses in some unusual spots. That said, you're not the only one who has pointed out the dock works as a warehouse, so we'll adjust things accordingly with that.
just started really getting into this game and ran into some issues that i couldn't seem to solve. watched this and it answered a bunch of questions that i had :) thanks
I just discovered this game for PS5. The control screens are different and I'm struggling with it. My 1st attempt at a city was a complete disaster. My 2nd attempt is much better; peeps are happy and I'm turning a tidy profit. My next goal is to try and figure out trading, alliances and warfare. There are so many aspects of the game I don't understand yet and it is difficult to find info on it but thats OK. The game is so cool, it is worth the time it is taking to figure it all out.
@@paulwestcott353there sort of is if you play on the campaign mode. They give you tips/directions as you play. You can also do a custom game to make things a bit easier for yourself as well.
Ive got this game for ps5 and it looks like it would be decent but the only problem is i cant seem to work out how to build a sawmill . Im setting up wharehouses , wood cutter camps , houses and farms and stuff but things are constatly at Max Output Full or whatever and keep on running out of timber, its ridiculous . Does anyone have any pointers. What am i missing?@Czardus

There are multiple ways to start and play the game. This is my recommended start, coming from a player aiming to view this as more of a city builder than a RTS. :-)
@@Czardus true but i meant for pure eco, my preferred playstyle is also city builder i never have 3 ai, whatever you do, dont have berly charachter in your first game xx
also in the early game you need lots of timber.. go 1:1 lumberjack to woodshed or whatever it is called.. you will be building a stock of wood and only using half of it making timber.. i get 4 sets going early game.. as in 4 lumberjacks and 4 woodsheds.. you need a lot of wood to build early. otherwise you will find your self waiting around for timber so you can build
Yes, we definitely will need timber throughout the game. This episode I was focused on getting the budget balanced, which requires getting workers so we can have a higher income, but next we'll probably focus on increasing some of the key items like timber.
Great game once you learn how to play. This video definitely helps. But they dont teach you nothing in this game lmao. You literally have to look online to figure it out. You doing people a great service
your second sheep farm is not doing anything, check the productivity, it is full of wool, but the warehouse is out of range, see the icon over the farm.
@@Czardus I like the way you describe in detail what you are thinking and move slowly so viewers can get what you are doing, you don't see much of that, I hope it generates some views and subs!
Its cool that you're into making content but you should really get to the know the game a lot more before claiming its an "ultimate" beginner's guide. Call the video "My Start in Anno 1800" or something more accurate
I like this game, but the economy gets very complex very fast. Story mode is even rougher, because you have to balance Old World and New World. And that damn Beryl seized one of my islands!
What button do you press to switch between your ship and islands? I have to find my ship with my mouse and find my island when I’m zoomed out looking somewhere else 😭 a faster way would be appreciated !
I've looked at the wiki but it's not my style to go for the most efficient designs. I'm more interested in letting a city develop as it goes, and then we work with what's already there when we need to redevelop.
i agree, i hate those maximum efficiency city full city stamps haha, part of the fun of this game for me is succeeding while keeping my cities looking decent(and not the exact same thing every time)... sure i use stamps, but they're stamps i created myself and are just tiny sections like 10x10 house stamps and such.@@Czardus
I dropped Skylines 2 for Anno 1800 as well. This is a great game! Really enjoying it. I already have more hours on this game.
I haven't dropped CS2 but I'm happy to be adding Anno 1800 to the channel rotation. :-)
That "sit back, grab a coffee, and relax" was very calming tbh
Thanks for the new content on this game! I just got it with the spring steam sale.
Hope you enjoy it!

Also you don't have to build a warehouse next to your port for your fisheries. As long as the road to the port is green, you're good.

at 5 mins in you add a warehouse for the first fishery, but you do not need to the dock serves as a warehouse too.
You’re not the only one to point that out. :-)
Time to build and while drinking coffee y✌🏼this morning!!!
I think I need another cup!
The dock works as a warehouse, you dont need to build one next to the fishery because the dock has that covered.

I think I'm just clicking on the minimap, but it's also been a few months since I played so I may not be remembering right.
I see you have a ship, how come I don’t have one. Do I need to finished quests to get it? Or what?
You should have one as part of your opening fleet of ships.
The port is the warehouse right? I think you dont need to put a warehouse for you fisherman
Yes, I discuss that in another video I think.
