If you truly think he's done; you have zero situational awareness. Worst case scenario is he gets the cold shoulder from the community he claims to love so much...but that's seemingly already his reality based on what limited knowledge I have available, and I don't think he cares. My grandfather in law is a Vietnam vet, went in -67. I have no military experience, but I asked him and he just cited all the 42 dudes he served with, name and rank he lost in the war.

Then I guess you haven't read up on his service. His statement seem consistent with his earlier actions Of not having a photographic memory. For example he went for over a decade thinking that he threw the grenade killing a family when actually he did not. It wasn't till a few layers ago when a friend said The family was actually okay. And he listed other examples of remembering things differently than the happen in his books. Other military commentators like Vietnam Veteran guests who've been on willinks podcast mentions that they have to get various versions of the story in order to get the truth, When writing their books, because everyone has a little bit different memory.

Combat Tim just lied on this one. He said he got honor graduate but he got the “combat tomahawk” award. Which is kindof like a participation trophy. Honor grad means you were in the top 1% of the class. More than one person can get it. But it’s based on performance, test score etc.

They made a big deal about it, and often gave out physical awards as well with some type of token or plaque. This was done in the presence of the entire class and Cadre, at the end of the graduation ceremony.

I was a Navy Corpsman from 1990-1999. I never saw combat nor was I in Special Forces. I never lost anyone I knew personally but lost a few to accidents and I remember their names. I got to go to a lot of different countries and see and do a lot of cool things. I’m still friends with a bunch of my shipmates and Marines. One thing that puts me off about him is his stance on 2A and civilians. I give him credit for going through Ranger and Special Forces but why do you have to embellish things?
I served in the 37th infantry division of the Ohio National Guard from 2001-2013 . We got deployed in 2011 to assist the army in Afghanistan. I didn’t lose anyone from my unit but lost guys that we were assisting I remember every name. Totally agree that’s not something a soldier forgets. Thank you for your service
I am disappointed. When people thank someone I know for their service, he answers, “I haven’t done anything”, even though jumping out of planes is dangerous. The person I am talking about is an Eagle Scout, so being honest means something special.
I have told people there are 2 types. The quiet professionals and the pre Madonnas. One you may not even know they served, the other will sell himself like a used car salesman. From the USCCA commercials to his stuff, everything is about what he’s done and his accomplishments while in.
I didn’t serve. Lots of family that did, but I never pulled the trigger. That said, I like Tim and dislike Tim at the same time. He’s objectively very inspiring in many ways.. but in many other ways, he’s utterly terrible. He comes across as a hardcore grifter, and the saddest part is that he doesn’t need to be one, because the honest version of his story is interesting enough on its own.
Without minimizing their service - I’ve never entirely bought into the veracity of the Jocko W, Marcus C or Chris K……….it’s sad, because their actual service was more than enough without embellishments or in some instances outright lies……
Many of us knew out of the gate something stank with The Lone Survivor story, then got immediate word that it was BS from within the SOF & Recon community. I knew it was BS before I listened to Luttrell for 2hrs talk about it at a speaking event. Now Luttrell finally admits the Navy propped him up as a recruiting effort to promote a ghost-written book by a British military fiction writer named Patrick Robinson.
What did Jocko lie about? I listened to quite a few of his podcasts and read his books. I never had the impression that he pumped himself up with over the top war stories. Chris K and Tim Kennedy have both said a lot of over the top, Hollywood movie type stories. On the other hand, I think of all of the stories I've heard about from WWII that were done by guys who went through basic training and then went to war.

The DD214 you get upon EAS is only as good as your S1 shop clerks. Mine's missing many awards and Ops. I had to make contact with the Board of Naval Corrections to get my EAS date corrected. That was worse than having a triple root canal. The awards I'm missing isn't a huge deal. It's history. It was the greatest honor and privilege of my life to serve as a Marine grunt for 16+ years.
NO ONE would forget to hit up the S1 to make sure they got a purple heart or valor award added to the ERB. Purple hearts were hard to come by at that point.

You can’t get those awards on your dd214 unless you have the signed orders that come with it if you lose those they can’t put them on your erb or dd214 I learned the hard way

I spent 13 years in my country army, 2 deployments in Afghanistan… I left the Army in 2019 and I’m still remembering every single face and name of the brothers who served with me, every single moment of the combat school and every single moment of the airborne school. You can’t forget these things. They will live with you for the rest of your life.

If tim can get a group from the 200 strong vehicle convoy he said got attacked to verify his story then he can have a case. If a group from the convoy all say he's lying then he's probably lying. Him saying his FOB was overrun by Iranians of all things. Well, that would just be in the news. Iran trying to over run a US base is unheard of. There should also be people from that FOB that was attacked that would be able to corroborate this story which somehow missed media attention as well.
I will admit his SFAERAETIC explaination is correct to a degree. When B/1/7 sent the entire company thru as taking over for C/3/7, they all got the certificate of graduation, however didn't get the identifier. There were some minor differences. So as a member of C/3/7 CIF he needed to attend again to get the identifier. I will give him that, but everything else is constant lies and this video didn't help him at all. Severely Narcissistic

I'm speechless. I was in Iraq 05-06 Al Asad, Iraq. We had the Haggies that would fire mortars at us. I found myself running around for cover when the fuel farm was hit. While stationed there my T/O Weapon was never fired in anger thank God. However, as the Administration Chief 0193, I had to submit a Personal Casualty Report (PCR) after one of our Marines was hit by scrap metal. She was MEDVAC to Stuttgart, GE, and returned to the AOR. The MAG-26 CO presented her Purple Heart Medal in formation. I as her Admin Chief faxed a copy of her award back to the rear to be entered in her SRB (Service Record Book). I did 30 years and retired on 31 July 2010. This former soldier doesn't pass muster for me.
During the entire gwot 188 Green Berets died. I don't think its even possible for Tim to have personally lost so many team mates that he cannot remember their names.
Things he doesn’t address are the number of trucks , how we talk down to a superior, how we got the sniper rifle , how Mike shot at innocent person, but Tim takes credit for it, how if it’s injuries were true there would be a medical record from medics taking care of him or in his journals or I’m sure he would’ve took pictures of it. How the people that were with him during the PK incident changed. How he claims the truck drivers had cell phones and were letting the bad guys know their position or how they were destroying trucks. He doesn’t address why didn’t he address any issues with the book before it was published?

I only went to military college, in South Carolina (EL CID). I was medically disqualified for active duty, (4F), because of Asthma. I remember every single name, of my classmates. Can’t get over the book detailing battlefield injuries yet DD214 details no Purple Hearts yet nine awarded. While I’m no veteran my dad has Purple Hearts and a silver star from Vietnam and a 30 year army career ending in 1995.

I was a Navy Corpsman from 1990-1999. I never saw combat nor was I in Special Forces. I never lost anyone I knew personally but lost a few to accidents and I remember their names. I got to go to a lot of different countries and see and do a lot of cool things. I’m still friends with a bunch of my shipmates and Marines. One thing that puts me off about him is his stance on 2A and civilians. I give him credit for going through Ranger and Special Forces but why do you have to embellish things?
I served in the 37th infantry division of the Ohio National Guard from 2001-2013 . We got deployed in 2011 to assist the army in Afghanistan. The DD214 you get upon EAS is only as good as your S1 shop clerks. Mine's missing many awards and Ops. I had to make contact with the Board of Naval Corrections to get my EAS date corrected. That was worse than having a triple root canal. The awards I'm missing isn't a huge deal. It's history. It was the greatest honor and privilege of my life to serve as a Marine grunt for 16+ years.

NO ONE would forget to hit up the S1 to make sure they got a purple heart or valor award added to the ERB. Purple hearts were hard to come by at that point.

I used to follow Tim a lot, got him to autograph the book presale, then one day his daily posts just seemed annoying so I unfollowed up before I even got to read the book.

I spent 13 years in my country army, 2 deployments in Afghanistan… I left the Army in 2019 and I’m still remembering every single face and name of the brothers who served with me, every single moment of the combat school and every single moment of the airborne school. You can’t forget these things. They will live with you for the rest of your life.

If tim can get a group from the 200 strong vehicle convoy he said got attacked to verify his story then he can have a case. If a group from the convoy all say he's lying then he's probably lying. Him saying his FOB was overrun by Iranians of all things. Well, that would just be in the news. Iran trying to over run a US base is unheard of. There should also be people from that FOB that was attacked that would be able to corroborate this story which somehow missed media attention as well.
I will admit his SFAERAETIC explaination is correct to a degree. When B/1/7 sent the entire company thru as taking over for C/3/7, they all got the certificate of graduation, however didn't get the identifier. There were some minor differences. So as a member of C/3/7 CIF he needed to attend again to get the identifier. I will give him that, but everything else is constant lies and this video didn't help him at all. Severely Narcissistic

I'm speechless. I was in Iraq 05-06 Al Asad, Iraq. We had the Haggies that would fire mortars at us. I found myself running around for cover when the fuel farm was hit. While stationed there my T/O Weapon was never fired in anger thank God. However, as the Administration Chief 0193, I had to submit a Personal Casualty Report (PCR) after one of our Marines was hit by scrap metal. She was MEDVAC to Stuttgart, GE, and returned to the AOR. The MAG-26 CO presented her Purple Heart Medal in formation. I as her Admin Chief faxed a copy of her award back to the rear to be entered in her SRB (Service Record Book). I did 30 years and retired on 31 July 2010. This former soldier doesn't pass muster for me.
During the entire gwot 188 Green Berets died. I don't think its even possible for Tim to have personally lost so many team mates that he cannot remember their names.

Things he doesn’t address are the number of trucks , how we talk down to a superior, how we got the sniper rifle , how Mike shot at innocent person, but Tim takes credit for it, how if it’s injuries were true there would be a medical record from medics taking care of him or in his journals or I’m sure he would’ve took pictures of it. How the people that were with him during the PK incident changed. How he claims the truck drivers had cell phones and were letting the bad guys know their position or how they were destroying trucks. He doesn’t address why didn’t he address any issues with the book before it was published?
What if the book is just a recruiting tool propped up by the Army?

Can’t get over the book detailing battlefield injuries yet DD214 details no Purple Hearts yet nine awarded. While I’m no veteran my dad has Purple Hearts and a silver star from Vietnam and a 30 year army career ending in 1995.
