  • This 1928 Essex Super Six Two-Door Sedan is a California car that has been owned by its present owner for the past 60-years. It has accumulated a mere 47,388 miles from new and has been restored only as needed. This can be shown at local and regional car shows and enjoyed on tours.
The Essex was purchased in Long Beach, California in 1962 by Phil Pfeiler when he was 16 years of age for $200 dollars. With only $100 to his name, Phil restored to borrowing the balance from his brother. The Essex has been in long-term storage for most of his ownership, accounting for the low mileage. Mr. Pfeiler restored the Essex as needed in 1992.
The Green over Black two-tone hand rubbed lacquer livery is the original color combination and shows very well today. The chrome and stainless steel have been restored and also show very well. The Green wooden artillery wheels are also well painted and drive well. The black vinyl top has been restored correctly and is in excellent condition. The spare wheel is mounted in the rear giving the front fenders a nice smooth flowing appearance.
The interior was also restored in 1992 with Beige Mohair fabric that appears new today. The dash and instruments have been restored and function well. The original delicate pot metal switches have been replaced with functional replacements.
This Essex has been well maintained over the years and still boasts its original straight six-cylinder 153 cid engine with a Stewart down draft carburetor. The engine compartment has been nicely detailed and shows very well. The three-speed transmission shifts smoothly and the drivetrain operates quietly.
The car comes complete with the original owners and parts manuals, restoration photos along with numerous documentation and servicing receipts. Also included is a car cover.
For more information and details, please call, text or email Chip Henson at +1.602.509.4776 or chip@classicpromenade.com. This Essex is available for inspection at our Phoenix showroom.

@@mariusstpierre2078 Sadly most people don't know what they have. When it comes to old cars.. To be honest people need to read into Essex cars.

@@darknessfalls_hellfire2551 Frankly I've seen worse, most people can't name anything but an ugly Model T. Blast that vehicle, I'll take a Nash anyday, or a Chalmers, or a Willys knight.

I seen at a show a few years ago a rare 29 nash twin ignition 8cyl 2 seater rumbleseat coupe. Ran smoth and quiet. Gorgeous car. I have 3 twin ignition 6cyls here to get running. 38/39 intake part of head and a 35 intake separate. 32 willys knight is the best looking willys ever. Cool but expensive engine

      @@WitchKing-Of-Angmarman, taking a nash over a model T? I wouldn’t go that far down
