Thank you for this great tutorial. I have one question though: On vyxated's patreon I noticed there are now two versions of reshade: one for DX9 and one for DX11. Since I have DX12 I installed the DX11 one. The issue is that I play on my laptop with an external monitor. The moment I move the game from the laptop's monitor to the external monitor (with SHIFT + Windows Key + arrow key) the game crashes. Perhaps this is seen by the system as changing the resolution? What are your experiences with this? If you ran into this problem, were you able to solve it? If so, how did you manage to solve it? Or should I just simply not install reshade and only use gsade shaders / converted shaders? Thanks for the help! ETA: I figured out my problem. I hadn't realized the resolution on my laptop screen was 2560 x 1600! When I changed that to 1920 x 1080 the problem was solved. So... Now all I need to remember is to temporary switch the resolution of my laptop to 1920 x 1080 move the game to the external monitor and change my laptop screen back to 2560 x 1600 :D
hey! quick question, gshade loads up & works for me but the presets turn off when i go to a different lot or cas for example. Any idea why that is? I cant turn it back on afterward at all but the control panel says that the preset is "on". I hope that makes sense 😅
Great video! Quick question, I accidently made my settings dx9 when installing and now found out my pc can handle dx11. How do I change this in the gshade app? Ive already changed the game properties and gone into the EA App to change everything but idk if thats all I need to do.
Hi! I installed gshade and when I open the game, it says press shift+backspace to open the tutorial, but I press those keys, and the gshade panel doesn't open. Do you know why?? I've tried other keys, and it still doesn't open :(
By any chance, do you have the installer for GShade version 5.1.0? I just upgraded to 5.1.1, and it broke some shaders. You'd be a lifesaver if you have it 🙏
@@Simfinityplays Unfortunately, they intentionally do not provide an option to download older versions (on GitHub there is only a link to the latest one). They responded this way on Discord. Is there a chance that the installer might still be in the recycle bin? In any case, thank you very much for your response ❤
The same thing happened to me! I updated it and it broke my presets. GShade only works on my game without any presets. Idk why they updated it only to cause issues and discord isn't helpful. But hopefully you found a solution! If not then I'm just gonna try to use ReShade again...

I updated it as well but the solution you tried is what I would've suggested.

Just uninstall gshade and reinstall it won’t mess anything up but backup ur presets.

No if the creator has updated to dx11 use that one it will work better

When i try to change my properties on the sims 4 desktop shortcut it tells me its not valid. i dont know what to do can you help? :(
Make sure you remove any “ “ from the beginning and end and put -dx11 . And did you make sure that your computer is compatible with dx11

for some reason when i open the sims i dont get the popup at the start when launching gshade for the first time :(
its ok that happened to me it just takes a second to load

I don't have a custom folder when i click on the launch converter. what do i do?
Do you have a custom folder in your main bin directory of the sims or not in the convertor ?

You’re looking into the wrong folder , it’s in the game bin folder where your sims 4 is located .
