Good man I landed my first ever salmon on the fly last year. A 5lb grilse and lost 4, a lot of hard days last year on the river but I'm after a Springer this year and I know it's going to be hard going but I'm excited to see what migrates up the river. Tight lines for 2024 and keep the videos coming 👌
Still remember my first on fly at 11 and a size 12 Currys red near 35 years ago and still I remember it like yesterday.back in the early 90s when the plum fished extremely well
Fair play to you William, you would give a man hope after a salmonless 2023 season, first time ever. Gonna get rid of the new shooting head and go back to a .floater with changeable tips to suit conditions. I hope.2024 is a good one.for you. B.I.T.T.!
Would you suggest using a fast sinking line for the spring salmon . I’m taking the Finn out for the 1st time this year and I’m planning on going after the springers. Thanks
Hello northwestfishing 1662 A line used years ago was the cortland ice blue For your self its an allrounder and ive been always using a fast sunk line or medium Check out set up for springer film i made last spring Any probs let me know Many thanks and i shall see you soon Your going to a Magical river
What about an intermediate line with a sink tip is it important to get the fly well down for springers? I use a floating line with a sinking tip on my local river and it works for me from July onwards
@@northwestfishing1662 yes Northwest and a sunk line seems to work best as they love Big water Try around with a few sink rates but i have found when they arrive its 2.inch per sec and quicker Stay Tuned as a last spring video coming up before March !🙏
