Before you both came out... I had completely the wrong impression of RJ. He was sullen, stoney faced, angry, would not communicate, or interact. It was like he hated us. His unhappiness was palpable. I often wondered how someone who did such amazing charity work could be like that. But now.... I see a very different RJ. Someone gentle and very kind. Caring, generous, thoughtful, loving and so full of life. Before I always used to comment it was nice to see RJ smiling and relaxed. It happened so rarely. Now though is so very different. It really warms my heart because I thought so often how unhappy he looked before. RJ you’re radiating happiness. I love that because you really do deserve it. Whereas Mikey I think has the ability to mask, which ultimately does lead to burn out. I think you no longer need to waste that precious energy masking for the camera. EDIT: I also want give you guys kudos for mentioning how inappropriate it was for any one to ask the question about top/bottom. I cannot believe anyone would have the nerve ask. Just because some of us are in same sex relationships it does not give people an open invitation to ask questions like that. Same sex relationships are no different than any other relationship. Love is love and we are no more comfortable sharing details about our private life than a straight couple. So please remember to be respectful and honor peoples right to privacy.
An important thing to note, for those who are scared of coming out, if you KNOW your parents are unsupportive of the lgbt+ and you have a strong feeling that you will be disowned or kicked out, just wait. Maybe tell a close friend that you know you can trust but do not put yourself in harm or in danger if you don't think your family will not take to it well. You can sometimes test how they will react by saying maybe someone at your school that you know came out and see how they react. Of course, parents can be much more impacted if they hear it is about their child but if they say horrible and threatening things about other people that come out, it's best to not tell them until you have moved out and can support yourself. MOST parents will be supportive or at the very least, understanding.
I totally agree with this! My dad's talk with me before leaving for the Philippines was "There's a lot of gay there! Make sure you tell them you're NOT gay!" OMG I DIED A LITTLE INSIDE and kept my mouth shut. But yes, waiting until 8 yrs later when times began to change and I began to change and he began to change, really helped set the perfect stage up to come out!

I am very charmed by how shy RJ is, it's so hard being open about feelings in such a public way! It's hard to break the habit of hiding. Much respect lol. Also I like the description of not having a single day that you realized the love. I had very instant bonds with my two partners in our triad, but it took us a while to really... Figure it out lol. About a month into talking to them and we realized we'd fallen for each other and were like, oh crap, this makes things very complicated let's talk. But it's been eight years with one and three with the both of them, and we're a team. Jealousy tip for folks, whether you are monogamous or poly or even in a friendship.... Jealousy is ultimately about fear. If you can identity what it is that you are afraid of, you can figure out ways to deal with it, whether that is to try to reduce it in yourself, or if it's coming from an unmet need in your relationship, or even an unmet need somewhere else in your life. I promise you that it makes life better and richer, no matter who you are or how you love, when you can take unabashed joy in other's happiness rather than pain.
A year later, watching this video makes me smile and think of my own beloved~ I can't wait to be open about our relationship too. Being gay, I became open to everybody else except my parents.. if only I also have the courage like the both of you have. I mean, I already consider myself as a failure to my parents and regarding about my gender preference even though I feel that they already have an inkling about me.. saying it straight to their faces that their boy is also inlove with another boy.. it would shatter their small hope that's left. But having to hear your stories I somehow thought of the possibility of being open to everybody including my parents. You gave me the understanding that a father will always be a father to his son regardless of his gender preference. I worried that it would be too much for RJ who strikes me as someone who prefers things to be ordered and quiet, and I worried that there would be a major impact to Mikey's opportunities that would effect you both mentally and financially. Personally, I'm glad you have found each other and found a way to balance all the different parts of your lives and I hope it continues to stay that way because you BOTH have earned the right to be happy!

I am very charmed by how shy RJ is, it's so hard being open about feelings in such a public way! It's hard to break the habit of hiding. Much respect lol. Also I like the description of not having a single day that you realized the love. I had very instant bonds with my two partners in our triad, but it took us a while to really... Figure it out lol. About a month into talking to them and we realized we'd fallen for each other and were like, oh crap, this makes things very complicated let's talk. But it's been eight years with one and three with the both of them, and we're a team.
Jealousy tip for folks, whether you are monogamous or poly or even in a friendship.... Jealousy is ultimately about fear. If you can identity what it is that you are afraid of, you can figure out ways to deal with it, whether that is to try to reduce it in yourself, or if it's coming from an unmet need in your relationship, or even an unmet need somewhere else in your life. I promise you that it makes life better and richer, no matter who you are or how you love, when you can take unabashed joy in other's happiness rather than pain.

Being gay, I became open to everybody else except my parents.. if only I also have the courage like the both of you have. I mean, I already consider myself as a failure to my parents and regarding about my gender preference even though I feel that they already have an inkling about me.. saying it straight to their faces that their boy is also inlove with another boy.. it would shatter their small hope that's left. But having to hear your stories I somehow thought of the possibility of being open to everybody including my parents. You gave me the understanding that a father will always be a father to his son regardless of his gender preference. Thank you Kuya Mikey and Kuya RJ for spreading positivity and hope to the younger members of the LGBT community.
