@@kushjoshi1310 I am talking about the myriad black shows on tv that were popular, in addition to the white shows. There has not been a time since then where there were so many black shows on primetime that only had black people as the main cast, By that I mean - The Cosby Show, A different World, Living Single, Martin, Hanging with Mr Cooper, Family Matters, In the House, Moesha, etc.
14:15:ok you can tell the presenter didn't brush up on his history, William James Jones's Character was the longest running Black male presence on Saturday Morning , he outlasted Bill Cosby and Fat Albert and Also you had Saved by The Bell first with Lisa Turtle and AC Slater. And for Jenny (is that her name?) She was the longest running Female Asian presence on Saturday Morning, cause there wasnt that presence anywhere ,the only other Asian presence on Saturday Morning was Animated (Samuri on Challenge of The Superfriends or Charlie Chan and the Chan Klan from the 70's)
One of the many reasons the show worked from a diversity angle is because it wasn't FORCED like today's TV. I recall a story that the role of Tiffiny came down to Kelly, Jenny, and some Latina actress. Kelly obviously won but the in the 2nd season when Heidi bailed on the show, they cast Jenny as Sam because they remembered her from the Tiffiny auditions. Most shows would go through ANOTHER casting call to fill the void. Then in the 3rd season they tried to get that unnamed Latina actress to play Lorena but she wasn't available. But casting wanted a Latina for the role and Diana stepped in. And Tony, William just auditioned and didn't get any preferential treatment and was right for the part.
@@kushjoshi1310 Because they're not being hired for their talent. They're being hired to fill a diversity quota that is being forced. This is what D.E.I does to productions.
@@OscarMPG1 You're really telling on yourself here. So because a show wants to be more inclusive, that automatically means they aren't casting talented people who fit that description?
I'm so happy to see the California Dreams reunite. I'm still watching the show in 2024. Love the music.
Awesome, great video for fans of the show. Great to see they are keeping the show alive 👍🏽
Yay welcome to TH-cam 🎉🎉🎉
Love it!! Welcome to YT!! ❤🎉
Jennie and Diana look so particularly beautiful here. But they all do. I love them. Always have.
All the girls on this show were beautiful. Kelly, Diana, Jennie and Heidi. Handsome guys too.
Great to see Diana back.
@@ElectricShark Jennie is hot.
I was hoping we got that Saved by the Bell/California Dreams crossover back in the day haha. CD very underrated show
such cool people, thanks for posting
so freaking awesome
William is 100% wrong, the 90s was the golden era of black people on mainstream television. Almost every popular show was a black show in the 90s.
You are correct
Lol.. STOP SMOKING CRACK
@@LifeIsNotoriousidiotic
Friends, Seinfeld, The Wonder Years, Frasier, Saved by the bell etc.

I love california dreams
a California Dreams reboot with a new teen cast with the original cast returning for guest appearances would be freaking awesome with NBC/Peacock.
They've done it with Saved by the Bell so it makes sense.
Please please come to the uk London? Are the songs on Apple Music as I can’t never find them?
Bummer Heidi Lenhart couldn’t be there.
That's life
#HeidiLenhart was busy
You think its possible to show the rest of the show when their singing the songs?
Wonder why Heidi Lenhart was not there.
Thank you I'm not the only who noticed she was missing. She was my favorite on season one

Jennie Kwan can join the singing mixed pop group quartet of The Party.
But they were missing Heidi Noelle Lenhart who played Jenny. Matt's sister on Season one and two. Where was she?

How are shows today with diverse casts “forced”?
