I've just wanted to mention that i love the unedited style of your videos, it's raw and real and human. This is not to say polished and edited videos aren't great too, just that you shouldn't be down on yourself for the way you are sharing your content. I like the humanness and intimacy of a bit of rambling, it makes it like a real conversation with you rather than a presentation. :)

Yes to what @faithcap said! A book with your favorite patterns would be lovely! I don't care if I already have the patterns, it would just be super fun to have!❤

Yay, thanks for sharing that you've been off of Facebook for over a decade -- me too, and at times I feel like I'm the only one. As though I needed another reason to know I enjoy you. :-)

Spinning is such a personal journey and after watching your podcast I felt really encouraged to proceed to a wheel after finding a drop spindele really difficult to manage. I got stuck parking and drafting fiber and actually dropping was too much for my brain with it all. After hearing you just jumped right in I found a used wheel and have loved it and am so happy I did, a wheel was so much easier for me to begin! Thank you again for all your tips and tricks!

Yes it’s different for all of us! Good luck with the wheel! 😊

Would love to see a book including some of your classic patterns and maybe some new ones. Even a spinni g book would be really great.

I tried to start spinning with a drop spindle and haaaated it. Ordered my wheel on a whim and it was way better. Still not loving spindles, I think I need to try a new one 😂

EEW Nano 2 owner here (who has only ever owned a basic drop spindle before)-while there’s obviously some drawbacks (ie each bobbin only holds 50g-ish of fibre so I end up with lots of small skeins instead of fewer larger ones, you have to be careful not to pull too hard etc.) I love it! Absolutely worth it for the price in my opinion.
Currently knitting the traveller cowl with some yarn I spun on the nano for the spin it to knit it knitalong! :)

I'm with you on the Falkland; it's not my favorite. Right now, I'm really into Rambouilette. It is such a pleasure to spin and is so squishy!

I'm glad you mentioned that some people don't catch on to the drop spindle as a starting point to spinning. I took a mini morning class just before you announced your spindle spinning 100 day challenge. Sadly I didn't go back to the spindle because it didn't really grab me, so did not participate in the challenge. It's sweet that you have an afternoon 'look out the window and daydream' :) Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm. I love your new socks - the colours are brilliant together! I wore the heels out of my own DRK everyday socks. I hope you have a great weekend!

Thank you for the beginner spinning question! I am about to start my journey with a drop spindle first, fingers crossed it will click with me. It is on my to learn list for such a long time. Your weekly podcast is a great inspiration.

After seeing all of your beautiful handspun projects, I became so fascinated with learning how to spin. I didn't want to commit to buying a wheel without knowing anything about spinning or if I would enjoy it, so I bought a drop spindle to try that out and it's just not clicking for me. I've tried using it a few different times and just ends up frustrating me, I thought spinning just wasn't for me, but I did some looking online and found a shop somewhat close to me that actually offers a wheel spinning class. I'm super excited to take the class and hopefully will click for me! Love watching your videos each week.

If you’re interested in reading about spindle spinning in particular, I highly highly recommend the book “Respect the Spindle” by Abby Franquemont. It’s full of info, history, and instructions all specific to drop spindling :)

Thank you Andrea for adding your love of spinning to your episodes. I also started spinning in December (I joined the 100 day challenge) with the e-spinner I had sitting on a shelf for at least 6 months. I agree that Yarnitecture was so helpful, as well as the class from Worsted to Woolen on Craftsy. I spun right along with them. I've already knit the Traveler Cowl with my handspun and am now spinning for the Shell. I have a new obsession!

Thanks so much for answering my question about Junction! I was initially leaning towards doing the short row in the ribbing, but had not considered the need to work them in two sections with the folded collar. I have some things to think about now. 😊

What, Corriedale!😂 I think you should try Hubbards or Rupert’s fine Corriedale fleece. Also the silk you would be more drawn to is wild silk(Tussah). It has more texture and more of a matte sheen.

I have a question. I hope this is the correct place to put the question. I have a problem with coordinating some motor skills and balance. I am an avid knitter but would like to learn to spin. I have tried wheels at various times and a drop spindle. It just doesn't work for me with trying to do various different motor skills at the same time. I think an electric spinner may work for me. I hear people say they use them mostly for plying. What are your thoughts on this? I don't know anyone with one to try one. Thanks so much. I love your podcast.
