SKÓGAFOSS is a magnificent waterfall located in the south of Iceland, near the small village of Skógar. The waterfall is situated on the Skógá River, which originates from the Eyjafjallajökull volcano. It cascades down a steep cliff, with a height of about 60 meters (197 feet) and a width of approximately 25 meters (82 feet). One of the notable features of Skógafoss is its constant spray, which often creates a dazzling rainbow on sunny days. Visitors can get quite close to the waterfall, and if they don't mind getting wet, they can even walk right up to its base. There is also a staircase with over 500 steps that leads to a viewing platform at the top, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Skógafoss is easily accessible, located just off the Ring Road (Route 1), which encircles Iceland. It is approximately 150 kilometers (93 miles) from Reykjavík.
