It's funny if you have receivers like say Joe Barrow. Of course. You don't have better pass rating right? You've got guys that you practice with all year long that you played with previous, Kansas cities were pretty much all injured.
I think Burrow is fantastic as a QB. One if the best I've ever seen. But I hear people saying he's the best QB in football because of the way he's playing this year and when they say that I wonder how they can so quickly forget. See here's the thing, he's playing great but he's barley in the playoff hunt because of that horrible defense. I remember another QB a few years back in a similar situation team wise that Burrow is in. That QB was Pat Mahomes in 2020. He had one of thewrost defenses in the league. Every game was a shootout. All he did was lead his team to a 14-2 record, the 1 seed and his first Super Bowl win. I don't understand how anyone can say Burrow is the best QB right now when Patrick Mahomes has once again lead his team to best record in the league, the 1 seed and likely his 3rd straight Super Bowl win. Burrow is greatness, but Mahomes is unprecedented.
Honestly, Coach Reid not winning coach of the year is really annoying me. Mahomes will make the pro bowl another 50 times, but Reid has been a top 5 coach for 25 years and has not won coach or the year since 2002. Like, I get it, but come on.
Isnt it possible that Mahomes played like the 4th best qb in the AFC and he’s still a major part of their wins? The Chiefs have the 4th most pro bowlers and one of if not the best coach of all time so they can be 15-1 without having mahomes playing better than the three guys who made the pro bowl. I will agree though that coach of the year is badly decided if Reid isn’t even in the conversation
Or maybe, Mahomes was the best QB, but had the 4th best stat line b/c stats don't always capture how well you're playing, and sometimes can be misleading??
@ While that can be true, watching how the season has gone for these 4 guys I just think he has not played as well. And all of Nick’s arguments (15-1, reigning sb mvp, and even the stats of how good he is in certain times) aren’t very compelling. If he has better stats on 3rd down and worse stats overall that just means he’s much worse on 1st and 2nd down. The only argument is wins or previous prestige which is not how we decide pro bowls (and shouldn’t be.)
@ it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s worse on 1st and 2nd down. Andy is running more on 1st and 2nd down, this year, than in years past. And his backs don’t have good rushing averages. At all. (Part of that is RB1 and RB2 being hurt most of the year.) Both LJ and Allen have better backfields. Despite this, Mahomes actually is good on 1st and 2nd down!! KC has one of the best “3rd and manageable” rates in the league! Despite having almost no production out of his RBs!! And yes, wins matter! They’re not the be-all/end-all but none of these other guys goes 15-1 w this team. None. Also, if wins don’t matter, then Lamar has no business being last year’s MVP. And every other 1 loss qb who had a mediocre year (Jim McMahon and Cam Newton come to mind) is also unworthy. Except they’re not bc wins do matter. And taking a guy who doesn’t even have a winning record over a guy who’s 15-1 especially when 15-1 guy beat 8-8 guy and beat Lamar Jackson guy….yeah that’s unprecedented. Literally every other QB in league history that’s been where Mahomes is has received a pro bowl honor.
@@murphyp2 Well statistically if he is better than the other guys on 3rd down but worse overall than by definition he has to be worse on first and second down. Also wins certainly matter for mvp (although I think Lamar’s mvp last year is certainly debatable) but I don’t agree that they should be a major factor for the pro bowl. Also just because other players who have won 15 games have made the pro bowl, that doesn’t mean getting 15 wins should mean you automatically make the pro bowl. It all depends on how well you play versus how well the other qbs that year play. And it may be rare but it is not unprecedented. Tom Brady didn’t make the pro bowl in 2003 when his team went 14-2 and later won the Super Bowl.
The problem is number 15 has a history. He threw for over 5200 yards with 52 TD. People now expect more responsibility on his play and if he falls to mediocre then he drops of the planet. Plus people have Chiefs envy and is becoming hate for everything they do. They will not get theirs even when they win the SB this year. They will still critique his play and say the refs or something like the team that looses were the problem that allows him to win. The problem is LT since game one and he still won as a team and although he wasn't throwing 5k yds with 60 TDs he is below average and now he will use this as fuel. He only cares about the stat that matters, i.e. SB
Love seeing him talk about raw numbers are what he considers for Pro bowl but why Mahomes should be in the pro bowl despite the raw numbers, whole lot of words that are contradictory. This is clown work

So you mean the tell me Kelce led the league in voting as a aging tight end, but his qb is the best player in the world, and not a pro bowler? I love it when Nick is this upset, tho 😂😂😂
Joe burrow is the most valuable player this season, his team is #1 pick without him. It doesnt make him the better qb over mahomes CAREER or in a one game setting but context matters man its about production throughout one season and how much you mean to your team
Nick has reverted back to his ridiculous 2020 self. We really need an enormous humbling or this is gonna get out of hand... Skip Bayless didn't love Tom Brady this much....
This is the best thing that could have happened to the Chiefs and the worst thing that could've happened to the rest of the NFL. Petty Mahomes is about to go scorched earth in the playoffs.
He thinks Allen should be MVP based on the impact he's had on his team....but thinks Burrow should get that pro bowl spot based on the stats. then when talking about why Mahomes should be in the pro bowl, he jumps back to the impact he's had on the team. cohost calls him out on this and his response is "Josh's numbers arent that much better"
This is beyond delusional. The chiefs would have zero super bowls with Josh Allen, the bills would have multiple with mahomes. Bills fans try to cope by saying coaching holds Josh back. McDermott is Andy Reid without mahomes. Wins the division, under performs in the playoffs. Mahomes' greatness transcends Andy's horrible game management and bad play calling. But bills fans want to have excuses for why Josh is a failure compared to mahomes so they cope with rewriting history.
Then why isn't Andy Reid in the Coach of the year conversation? Either Mahomes is in the MVP convo and a pro bowler, or Andy is the coach of the year. You can't have it with both of them not getting any recognition, because only 5 Chiefs made the pro bowl in a season where they have the best record in football while going for a 3 peat. So which is it?
1. No, they wouldn't be. 2. If that's true, then KC's defense should have more than 1 Pro Bowler. You don't get to have it both ways. If Mahomes is being "carried by the defense" then the Defense should have more than just Chris Jones on the Pro Bowl roster (that, or Jones should be running away with DPOY). The fact that this isn't happening means Mahomes is playing better than his line, and deserves aPro Bowl nod. 3. If Andy is that good, he should get Coach of the Year. He won't get a single vote. Why? Because "he has Mahomes." You don't get to have it both ways! If Mahomes is carried by Andy and the defense, then the defense should get more accolades, and Andy should get COY. If the defense only wins b/c Mahomes is at QB, then Mahomes is a PB-er.
@@RyanD2558 because that’s not how coach of the year works Coach of the year goes to the coach that does the best vs expectations of the team. Chiefs are always expected to be in the playoffs making it nearly impossible to win coach of the year.
Refs don’t get pro bowl votes, babe. The reason they have so many win by playing so poorly is because of them. The voters unfortunately have eyes and watch the games 🤷🏽♀️
I understand you wanna ride for your guy as a KC fan, but the Mahomes opinion is as biased as they come - ain’t nothing wrong or outrageous with 3 guys who’ve played the position better this year being voted ahead of him this year. Several things can be true at once: Mahomes is an all time great. He hasn’t played to the level of the 3 guys ahead of him in voting this year. Not making the pro bowl this year doesn’t negate his historical/future greatness. He is still very much alive to win the Super Bowl, but that still wouldn’t mean he should’ve been a pro bowler if he does.
I think if you're 15-1 and win the Super Bowl, by definition, you're a Pro Bowler. Especially if none of the 3 guys "ahead" of you would do the same if they were starting for the Chiefs.
@ I’d say being a pro bowler would be the first/only requirement of being, by definition, a pro bowler. And I’m also not sure what winning the Super Bowl would have to do with a regular season accolade, but to each their own
@@toby_yayo “being a pro bowler is being a pro bowler” is nonsensical reasoning. I’d argue that unless KC has 5 pro bowlers on the defense, the. Mahomes has outplayed the other guys. Mahomes will have the last laugh after his Three-Peat in Super Bowl 59.

Patrick has to been in because of team success. But Josh Allen should be out and Joe Burrow should be in because of the numbers??? How biased can one man be 😂
My favorite part of listening to Nick Wright talk about Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs is that it’s just the new incarnation of the Brady-era Patriots, and he hates on the Pats historically
You're sounded very quarterback wins on this one Nicky also, why is Josh Allen graded on statistics (should keep him out) and mahomes isn't (his stats are worse).
I really hope Mahomes and the chiefs 3peat, I’m keeping all the receipts for that day if and when it comes.
The pro bowl has less than nothing to do with the Super Bowl champion. Just stop

@@myllamaManare you serious? Are you saying there hasn’t been just constant chiefs and Mahomes doubters all year until the Christmas game? 90% of the analysts who after last year’s superbowl said they’d never bet against Mahomes and the chiefs again… only to keep picking against the chiefs all year long & act like the one loss to the bills somehow made them a 10-6 team vs a 15-1 team.
Plenty of receipts to bring up if they do what has never been done.
But even if they do, the haters will keep saying "the refs gave it too them" or that Mahomes isn’t that good.
Mahomes is great when the game is on the line, something g the other QBs don’t have on their resume
They won’t make the SB
The Broncos cost me a 6 leg parlay last week I feel the pain
About the unserdog covering the spread in regulation, sports books could also offer something like true moneyline (includes OT) and protected moneyline (only regulation)
Crazy that a 15-1 team that played 9 playoff teams doesn’t have an mvp candidate, OPOY, DPOY candidate, coach of the year candidate, assistant coach of the year candidate, any rookie of the year candidate. So then how could the team possibly 15-1 if no one on the team is good?
9:55 Best line of the season!! “When it comes down to those two guys”. Hilarious. For Mahomes, the record is the main thing- And past glory - Because those are his strengths this year. For everyone else, it’s whatever suits Nick’s narrative.
Andy Reid should get coach of the year for 15-1 with QB having an off year and not a super strong roster

how can mahomes be the most valuable player in football, if his team wins even when he plays bad?? sounds more like he’s a game manager on a great team to me
you can tell he wants to get out from under the obvious answer by deflecting the facts; andy reid is the best coach in football, and they have the best defense in the league, not to mention a suspicious amount of late game calls that go their way💀
When does he play bad? He has the best 3rd and 4th down numbers in the league, the most game winning drives, the best 4th quarter numbers, and did it with 4 out of 5 receicers missing time, a missing LT, and a missing RB. What are you actually trying to say? Your first comment was nonsense.

Wahhhhhhhhhh
It's funny if you have receivers like say Joe Barrow. Of course. You don't have better pass rating right? You've got guys that you practice with all year long that you played with previous, Kansas cities were pretty much all injured.
Josh Allen wouldn’t be left out the pro bowl bc the league wants to give him the MVP
How can you say Mahomes belongs in the pro bowl but at the same time say it’s based off of the raw stats lol make it make sense
Nick can we all just agree pro bowl and awards is about numbers and favorites only. Not about being the best players to win
Goff has the higher floor and the higher ceiling.
Mahomes is still the best QB but its not a Pro Bowl season. Not all his fault but he can still get the award that matters most, SB win and SB MVP
Nick is never a quarterbacks wins guy until his quarterback’s only redeeming quality is wins😂😂
The 2020 chiefs did not have a bottom 5 or bottom 10 defense in 2020.
2020 the defense was fine. But 2018? Yeah....
Honestly, Coach Reid not winning coach of the year is really annoying me.
Mahomes will make the pro bowl another 50 times, but Reid has been a top 5 coach for 25 years and has not won coach or the year since 2002. Like, I get it, but come on.
Josh Allen got the most votes out of any player…
To think he wasn’t going to get in was utter nonsense.
I would rather have moneyline bets end at regulation. Underdogs win if tie.
I don't understand why Travis Kelce made the pro bowl and Mahomes didn't.
SB
The chat usually has a lot of wild takes, but i drawn the line at Amon Ra > Justin Jefferson
Mahomes not even making the pro bowl is 😂😂😂
Love seeing him talk about raw numbers are what he considers for Pro bowl but why Mahomes should be in the pro bowl despite the raw numbers, whole lot of words that are contradictory. This is clown work
15-1 is a "raw" number.
The voters pick based on individual stats… Mholms aren’t that great. I understand the record should count, but the voters favor big numbers over wins… a team stat.
There's no way we just spent 20 minutes on an effort the Chiefs have no plan to play in to begin with... Feels like a waste of time to me.

I could not care less about the Pro Bowl.
CRYING ABOUT MAHOMES? 😢 JISH GOT SNUBBED 2 OTHER TIMES
Pro bowl are strictly stats, thats it
He values the raw numbers.. but mahomes does not have good numbers for the whole season. Come on man.
No one is saying he isn't one of the best but THIS YEAR he has not. Get over it.
So you mean the tell me Kelce led the league in voting as a aging tight end, but his qb is the best player in the world, and not a pro bowler? I love it when Nick is this upset, tho 😂😂😂
Can we give Nick some legit The Offers? Wtf is that
Joe burrow is the most valuable player this season, his team is #1 pick without him. It doesnt make him the better qb over mahomes CAREER or in a one game setting but context matters man its about production throughout one season and how much you mean to your team
Fair. But he's also not better than 15-1 if he's on this Chiefs team.
I lost a good bet because the 49ers didn’t make the playoffs! I had a total of 10 teams to make the playoffs! 😢
Lamar is on a team with 9 Pro Bowlers. And the Lamar Stans still think he’s most valuable 😂😂😂🪦🪦🪦
Pro bowls out to
Nick has reverted back to his ridiculous 2020 self.
He thinks Allen should be MVP based on the impact he's had on his team....but thinks Burrow should get that pro bowl spot based on the stats. then when talking about why Mahomes should be in the pro bowl, he jumps back to the impact he's had on the team. cohost calls him out on this and his response is "Josh's numbers arent that much better"
wosh we could hear damonza
Im surprised the refs for the chiefs didn’t make it in to the pro bowl.
Josh Allen with the Chiefs defense, and Andy Reid drawing up the plays would be 16-0 right now. The team that actually beat the Chiefs had Josh Allen.
@tttsss345 You just said Andy Reid has bad play calling… you don’t know ball😂😂😂
Why? Because "he has Mahomes."
You don't get to have it both ways!
Chiefs are always expected to be in the playoffs making it nearly impossible to win coach of the year.
these are just the "please don't let cincy in the playoffs" edition of Nick's Picks
Chiefs would be 16-0 with Lamar, Burrow, or Allen.
I can’t wait till the chiefs lose this post season. Especially if it’s to the ravens or in the divisional .. that would be perfect
Refs don’t get pro bowl votes, babe. The reason they have so many win by playing so poorly is because of them. The voters unfortunately have eyes and watch the games 🤷🏽♀️
The Chiefs stuff is nauseating. Can't listen to it.
Then don’t. You probably don’t wanna watch this upcoming Super Bowl, either.
I understand you wanna ride for your guy as a KC fan, but the Mahomes opinion is as biased as they come - ain’t nothing wrong or outrageous with 3 guys who’ve played the position better this year being voted ahead of him this year.
Several things can be true at once:
Mahomes is an all time great.
That’s the only way you get to 15-1. (BTW, none of those guys gets 15 wins w this Chiefs team- sorry).
Right? If the argument is that he’s being carried then the ppl carrying him should get the honor. You don’t get to have it both ways.
Bro what are you talking about? They could easily have 15 wins without mahomes. They won most of their games scoring minimal points because their defense was special this year. They didn't need great qb play at all and mahomes wasn't giving them great play for the entire first half of the season
