I am a Bule from Turkey, a beautiful country with a high tourism rate and a Mediterranean nature that boasts stunning beaches. However, places like Bodrum and Kemer, which were once among the top places in the world, have now turned into concrete jungles. Some beaches are even inaccessible to the public as they are occupied by hotels and resorts that charge an entry fee. All of this has become a reality after the rise of resort tourism! this is very dangerous and it saddens me greatly. I cannot express how disheartened I am to see Bali heading in the same direction. There is no turning back once a place becomes like this. I hope that Bali and its society can prevent this from happening, as construction companies are often reckless. They come to make money and then leave the island, as has happened in Turkey. Please don't let this happen, Bali. We couldn't stop this I hope you guys can do it. :( this is so sad :(
As a tour guide i agree with what you guys talking about . Bali just getting crazy now days .traffic is crazy , building is uncontrol ,to Manny villas hotel huge malls are opening every single year and all those things is taking away the beauty of bali.in this case as a balinese iam so sad , as he said for the next 20 or 30 year after Bali would be just cover with building and nothing left to see
I have recently fallen completely in love with Bali through its music. Last year I visited the island and it really sealed the deal, just such an amazing culture and people. But I do feel bad about the stories of how much the island has changed. And I wonder, what can tourists do to not contribute to this change? Is there still a responsible way to visit Bali as a bule?
We're well aware of the challenges facing Bali as a whole. Now, it's crucial to seek solutions from three distinct perspectives: insights from practitioners (investors), input from the affected Balinese community, and coordinated action from the government to address the root issues comprehensively. Let's convene and brainstorm together, I'm eager to find solutions swiftly rather than dwelling on complaints endlessly.
I am from Sumatera, listen topics you're discuss here. I could understand. I live for couple months in Denpasar. Luckyly, in Sumatera even tough still problems about nature around-changing land into something with more money, still the land still untouchable. For me, the goverment should take a strict decision about all of the things happen in Bali. From public transportation to land policies. There should be a policy where the land couln't easily be sold and building a thing should have conditions-it should be green sustainable building
Itu malah berkebalikan dengan pemerintah Bali yang semakin mendapat uang pajak .dan bonus 💰💲. Apalagi uang ini sogokan ya pakai akun bank luar negeri. Jadi gak mudah terlacak kpk
History is always repeated, what is happening in Bali nowadays they already predicted in a 1993 documentary called Done Bali th-cam.com/video/vdw3SOVUtQo/w-d-xo.html great documentary how also they face the same issue regarding big development happen in south Bali also, there's a book is great to read called Bali Paradise Created by Adrian Vickers
why not spread the tourism ? not focusing at canggu, ubud, kuta etc ? many object in Bali are not explored. and about the masiv building, its very hard when the money is talking. thank you for discussing about this. i love you both

But one thing, never let Bali Taksu go away
Bali needs zoning. To prevent people from turning agricultural land into villas
