My family we are are all Cajun. We are from Louisiana originally. The only cemetery that has strict rules, is St. Louis Cemetery #1. That is where you will find Marie Lavue's grave. I am not sure of her tomb has been restored but it was vandalized someone painted it pink. You can get permission fairly easy to film. I f you get permission you can also get a pass to investigate overnight as long as you have an approved guide with you. The guides are very knowledgeable and will take you to some amazing parts with the most haunted Areas. the only reason things are so strict, is the very high rate of vandalism, however you are near some amazing haunted plantations. Have fun guys!! Gimme Gimme Kiss!!
Heather Oerter: Well said! My family on my Dad's side have been there since the 1700s! We have a city named Brossard which is the original Broussard spelling!
Heather Oerter I'm from Louisiana as well Baton Rouge to be exact and what you are saying is true 💕 I love when tourist come to the city it's makes me smile seeing how amazed they get when they come 😂😍
@@saunsiaraybroussard9967 yeah because Joseph Broussard was a colonizer a lot of people are related to him him and his offspring surely got around cause I'm related to him as well so is beyonce and Megan the stallion and I'm sure a whole lot of folks can trace their family lineage back to him
Patrice T it's the Archdiocese, it was originally a catholic only cemetery. When the city started getting more populated they actually segregated it. There is a catholic section and a non catholic section.
They just need to get with the program right haha who doesn't have they're phones out recording things these days it's the way of the world now it's not like omar and the guys were being direspectful or anything the lady was probably just in a bad mood oh well makes good entertainment for us fams right ☺
I'm glad that you guys found this cemetery. I went there back in 2014 and it wasn't strict as of today. I remember there were some weird stuff around her tombstone along with a bunch of people writing XX's.
musicman123 in 1965 after the movie Easy Rider was filmed and released, The Archdiocese stopped allowing people to film in the cemetery unless its an approved documentary.
musicman123 Laveau's grave site gets so many visitors as well as the cemetery as a whole, the Archdiocese is trying to protect/conserve it. People leave trinkets as offerings for good luck, people disrespect the cemetery. Graffiti it. It's really sad people want to destroy history based on legend. It's said if you disrespect the Queen she with physically slap you. She demands respect for herself as well as her grave. No talking bad about her there lol.
I'm glad that the Archdiocese stepped up their game and did something to protect history. I hate to see old stuff come to trash or destroyed. Much respect for Omar, Moe, James, and the rest of their crew for not trashing any abandon places. Yes the queen should slap their behinds. lol
Omar thank u for being a responsible parent and such a respectful person there really needs to be more people like u in this world!! And for being a very happy down to earth person, love your work I always get a laugh from u guys so THANK U!!
Hey guys if you do go to Gettysburg, you can make a quick detour and do an overnight challenge at the Eastern State Penitentiary in PA....the most haunted prison in America.....I'm pretty sure Al Capone was a prisoner there at some point. I was there a few years back for a Halloween event...the place was super creepy!!!!Right up your alley guys!!!!
I love New Orleans and miss it so much, im so happy to see you do this! I love you guys so much, Omar, Moe Sargi and James. Please dont ever stop making videos! Much Love. Also, you can film there, there's no security.
Cat Fam ...yeah I heard it and had to rewind and replay to confirm that it wasn’t my black cat meowing. Sounds exactly like my kitty. Did you see a kitty 🐱 cat there ...OR....is it a 👻🐱❓ Enjoyed this like I always enjoy your videos! Stay safe! Hey Mo from a fellow Canadian.
The marbles are used to help provide some energy to spirits. Also they are lightweight so if the spirits want to try to communicate they can move the marbles because they are easily moved. It was the only information I could find.
As I was looking at the comments, saw the name Marie Laveau, almost like "Maria Labu". In the Philippines, it was believed that this maria labu was turned into an "aswang" (shapeshifting monster in philippine folkore) after working as a nurse abroad for her family. It was also believed that a cursed small stone was given to her as "pamana" by her dying patient. Maria Labu was then possesed by demon through that stone given to her. Mary Catherine Laveau 1801 - 1881 married Jacques Paris( spelling of spouse ?? ). His body was lost or destroyed - they were only married a year. She had numerous children, many daughters named after her. She was a midwife who practiced rootwork in Louisiana Voodoo as did her daughter Mary Catherine II.
Catching up on all @theomargoshtv and @theomargoshvlog !!! I know you and James don't like cold weather but definitely interesting stuff up here in vermont. Keep up the amazing work omar, james, and moe!!!! Gimme kiss 😘 😁😁
Hi Omar! I just came across your TH-cam channel. Pretty cool stuff. I like it! I've been watching your videos past few days. I think u got a new fan here lol.
same thing Michael.. I just found his stuff a few days ago and same as you were doing I have also been watching all of his stuff over the last few days =D
so unless I'm on the wrong website I didn't find anything that says you can't film. plus they have a section dedicated to pictures and videos. so I think that lady was wrong to yell at you.
Dude I have soooo many spots you guys may be interested in going to. I’m from New Orleans and honestly you can catch allot of activity during the day at the cemeteries. We’ve seen someone walking past a stone and looked like whatever it was walked right into a huge grave. We all split looking for any direction it could’ve gone and NOTHING!
You have to have express permission from the diocese in New Orleans. You have seen numerous films shot in Lafeyette Cemetery Number 3. Marie Laveau is buried in cemetery number 1, and number 3 is a mixed denomination-Katholik cemetery. There is a huge difference in New Orleans. Girl from Nawlins
So here's my take on the whole "no filming" there when it comes to tourism. Because you guys filmed there and because you shared it with us, personally for me, I know the next time I'm down in New Orleans, I'll want to tour the cemetery so they should be thanking you guys for doing what you do there. And speaking of which, thank you for doing what you do!
That woman didnt have to get all ill call security on you. My goodness she needed to chill and mind her own. Im just saw this today im still kinda new and trying to watch videos that pop up for me. Your awesome and i love your channel!😁😁😁😁
Hi Guys, I enjoy your channel, I really wish you would give more history and information on places you visit. Things like explaining oven tombs and why they are above ground in New Orleans.
Stones and rocks were used to prevent the deceased from rising up and escaping the body as a spirit, to torment others. It is also a Jewish custom to place a stone or pebble on a headstone to indicate that you have visited the grave and to indicate respect for the deceased.
I went to New Orleans many many years ago and there is a church there that is shown on a ghost tour. The very top windows is supposed to be boarded closed and the nails are blessed. They say that around midnight the shutters are open. I'm not sure which church it is but I believe it's supposed to be the Ursuline convent.
Omar. please find the VOODOO QUEEN her name is MARIE LAVEAU
VOODOO QUEEN is MARIE LAVEAU.
Sharon Leader yes find her
Sharon Leader they would have to go with the tours, the Archdiocese doesn't allow visitors without guides due to Vandalism. :(
Tiphanie Legg will present a problem for a 3am comeback.
she's pretty pissed off, someone ( a mentally ill man ) repainted her tomb.. took all the X0's off

I think that's dumb that the lady told you guys not to film maybe they should put signs up if its such a big deal
Patrice T it's the Archdiocese, it was originally a catholic only cemetery. When the city started getting more populated they actually segregated it. There is a catholic section and a non catholic section.
Patrice T She was so extra.
Patrice T I agree too. Where's the signs???

Stones and rocks were used to prevent the deceased from rising up and escaping the body as a spirit, to torment others. It is also a Jewish custom to place a stone or pebble on a headstone to indicate that you have visited the grave and to indicate respect for the deceased.
Thanks you all your hardwork
I would love to walk through that cemetary, so unique yet foreboding. So thanks for the video of it, very awesome!
I want to go there
Hey Omar be careful if you go out tonight< stay on the main tourist route, side streets not safe.
Sophiegp61 absolutely especially around their.
Sophiegp61 true dat
I don't mess with that voodoo stuff . I dig your ghost vids cuz i don't believe in ghosts but voodoo is straight real.
you don't believe in ghosts but you believe in voodoo? Not sure how much sense that makes but ok...
Technically, when we die, our spirits are kind of in stasis until Jesus returns/Judgement Day. So there aren't any ghosts right now. Demons ? Perhaps.
I love yours and James shirts!
Been wanting to go to New Orleans for a long time, I love this!
Aaaah, when they say you can't video, this is when you need your camera glasses!😊😅
I went to New Orleans many many years ago and there is a church there that is shown on a ghost tour. The very top windows is supposed to be boarded closed and the nails are blessed.
