Being in a band isn't just about going into a studio and recording songs... it also involves lengthy tours, being away from home and those you love for long periods of time and other things... some get really moody and sulky about it but musicians like Lars make the most of it by meeting fans, having a laugh and enjoying what he does =)

it's grip tape, the kind of drum sticks he use are made where it doesn't vibrate hardly at all when you hit the cymbals or the drums but with a disadvantage it has a type of Nylon stick with an aluminum butt that is kinda hard to hold onto without the tape or Grip gloves.. idk why he doesn't use those... i've seen a joey jordison advert with em..

Finger grip tape - you can use either medical gauze strips, or Vater sell "Stick Grip Tape" that is basically waxed gauzed/mesh strips - the wax hold it together and gets sticky when you sweat to allow you to grip the stick better so you can relax your hand and not drop it!
