Thank for listening everyone! Edwin has a lot of tools in the toolbox. Super fun to watch. Take care!

I love this. Edwin seems like a “Niche” fighter in the sense that he doesn’t have a lot of fans. I m a big fan and it’s good to see a breakdown showing his skillset
Shakur said “he got a nice little defense” after the fight. That’s about as good as it gets for one fighter complementing another one. Specially one known for his defense
Love this because it shows Edwin is not just some big puncher. He’s way more slick and skilled than folks know
How do you think a fight with him and Frank Martin goes?

Thanks @UrbanBDKNY! What really gets me going is watching boxers that have particular patterns / sequences….and then how they solve their opponents…kind of like a puzzle. With Edwin he causes all sorts of problems ….they just jump out. So with Shakur…gosh Edwin was a really problem for him. It’s unfortunate in boxing L’s are so impactful….because Edwin is super ..super…solid.
Mmmmm….not sure about the Frank Martin fight. I should go back and watch Frank VS Gervonta to have a real opinion. I might just do that. I’ll ping you if I do. Take care!!

You made me watch Frank VS Gervonta. Ha! So I did a short on Frank. to follow up on your question ....I just don't know how the Frank VS Edwin fight will go. Frank would fight another difficult southpaw that can KO…and has a lot of tools in his arsenal. I do think Frank game plan was conservative against Gervonta. ..but hard to blame him on that...just didn't work. But if it’s the same for Edwin…boy…tough one.

      Take care!

I don't know whether the camera has reversed the stances, but, all these guys are southpaws, who are supposed to be in the minority and the 'wrong way around'! Anyway an informative upload and tutorial. Thanks for uploading - I liked it and subscribed.

Great catch @markdoughty8780 ! Yeah they are all lefties. I like watching lefties fight in the ‘closed stance’…VS ‘open stance’ (i.e. like looking in a mirror). When I watch a lefty fight in the closed stance …a true lefty …I know they are really solid. …Since typically they get the majority of their work in the open stance (i.e. lefty VS righty). I appreciate the follow. Keep rockin’

@@BoxingNotebook Ok, that explains it! It's like when you practice your boxing moves in the mirror; you're essentially boxing/sparring a southpaw, as everything is reversed! Alll the best.

      You nailed it! 🤟

@@BoxingNotebook Unless you are a Southpaw, (then) you're trading boxing moves in the mirror with an orthodox fighter - what a conundrum!😁

Interesting tid bit. I am a lefty and I taught myself how to box orthodox (as a righty)….because I wanted to learn how to box in the closed stance…didn’t have access to any lefties. Quick Rant: When I was a kid ...the grade school I went to only had right handed desks. Hard to explain but you slide into it and the part where you wrote was on the right side. So I had to contort my whole body just to write. And even wilder ….when my dad was growing up…he was a lefty…his school made him convert and write right handed. Just bonkers. Anyways life is a bit weird at times if you are a lefty.

Edwin was schooling Stevenson. What Stevenson was doing was not "the sweet science" by far. Edwin was feinting him out of position and Stevenson did not know how to engage with him on the line, (no circling his opponent) so he literally ran.

Boy I wish I could add something to that @Blkwlf89. You nailed it. I will say Edwin VS Jose Valenzuela was just the opposite. Lots of engagements. I hope we see more of Edwin. And anyone interesting in pick up a good follow throw in: www.youtube.com/@Blkwlf89

@@BoxingNotebookI think De Los Santos is a really good fighter. But what I don’t understand is, why doesn’t he ever call out Tank? I’m tired of watching Tank fight these guys we know can’t beat him

Man...it's hard to disagree @finalbeat2658. There were moments in that fight you could tell he was frustrated Stevenson wasn’t engaging.
