One quick and fun fact. The skywalker line about his father being a rhyming jedi... He's obviously referring to Vader. But he was featured several times in a rap battle on ERB. love those little easter eggs they throw in there for the long time fans.
3:19 If you'd prefer a wand over a lightsaber, that's your prerogative of course, but I think too many people are forgetting that Luke is talking to Harry. Harry uses magic while Luke uses the Force. Harry is only capable of doing magic with his wand. Lightsaber in hand or not, Luke can still use the Force, thus he's got the cooler stick. Lightsabers can do some wondrous things when coupled with the Force. 4:07 If I were Harry, I'd bring this up too, for sure, but I don't think it's as bad as Harry implies. First of all, Luke didn't move on Leia. Leia kissed him in order to make Han Solo jealous. It was just a kiss. It was weird, YES, but only after we learned that they were siblings in the very next movie. Still, I'd bring it it up too, but I don't think it's as bad as Harry implies. Luke chose the live of a celibacy, another reason why I think this hit isn't as hard as many make it out to be =/ 4:53 heroes in Star Wars have plot armor, for sure. However, are many forgetting the people and ships Stormtroopers killed and destroyed? Leia was shot in the abdomen by a Stormtrooper in Return of the Jedi. A Stormtrooper shot Luke off his speeder bike in the same movie. Our heroes often get away unscathed, but Stormtroopers do hit their targets from time to time. Recent stories, however, have gone back trying to explain their lack of proficiency, but the obvious reason why is the time in which Star Wars was made, during an era in which heroes always won, no matter the odds. If you think Harry won, stick to that =D Your opinion is your opinion. I hope Luke's line about about being a rapping Jedi like his father before him is hinting towards future battles--Darth Vader went up against Hitler three times. Personally, I think it was a draw. As unpopular as this opinon might be, and as a fan of neither, Both had good disses and comebacks. Harry was defiantly savage in this, but I liked how luke calmly fired back his achievements like a person with REAL confidence. Plus, both had good rapping skills, which I personally focus on. All in all, it's just hard for me to choose who won.
Even so, the "hero's journey" doesn't necessarily follow the same steps every time. And Harry and Luke both have very similar starts. They were both orphaned in infancy, were both raised by a parent's siblings, were both later taken in by a "wizard" and given training in the powers they inherited from their parents. The specifics differ, sure, but they're pretty close in the broad strokes, and much closer than is required for the "hero's journey" structure.
Harry did win, but it was fairly close. Harry was indeed more savage, he had the better burns and wordplay, but Luke did have the better flow and well-drawn-out setups.

Harry was raised by his aunt and uncle, so was Luke. Harry was unaware of his familial tie to a supernatural force within the universe, so was Luke. Harry is consistently training to fight a dark lord, so is Luke. Harry is given a tool used by those able to use the supernatural force in the universe, so is Luke. Harry bears scars from fighting the dark lord, so does Luke. Harry’s aunt and uncle would rather have him be oblivious to who he is, so did Luke’s aunt and uncle. Harry was trained by an expert and master in the supernatural force of the universe, so was Luke. It’s the same story. Harry loses simply because Luke didn’t miss once, and Luke required less outside help, rather using R2 and Yoda as modifiers instead of giving them a whole verse. As far as the lightsaber vs wand topic, lightsabers are made by the user, making them much more personal, with the kyber crystal within them being a direct result of the force influencing a planet. Where as wand wood is a result of a tree being deemed magical and inhabited by bowtruckle’s, also influenced by magic. Wizards also can’t do wandless magic just because they want too, they have to be powerful. Jedi and Sith however can always use the force regardless of whether or not they have a lightsaber, which is capable of cutting through most materials in the galaxy, deflecting plasma, channeling force lightning, and carrying the force essence of its wielder, allowing for events to be experience by others as if they were actually there, kind of like a pensieve but more convenient.
