    Great review, helped me a lot. Actually ordered both and I'll create a dual setup with the FR on the bottom and the PR on the top. Perfect for the super dark commutes.

    The runtime indicator on those lights compare available battery capacity to current draw to calculate remaining runtime. My guess is the inconsistent readings may have been caused by inadequate airflow while you were doing your accuracy testing that allowed the light to overheat and activate the lights thermal protection system. To protect the light from burning itself up when the light reaches a preset temperature it automatically activates the thermal protection system lowering the output by lowering the current draw that the runtime is calculated from. The lights operation will return to normal once the light temperature returns to a safe level. Overall Ravemen is one of my favorite brands and all 5 of their lights I've owned have been excellent value, quality, and performers.

      Thank you for that explanation, really appreciate it. I do agree with the lights being great quality and reliable. I can only recommend these. Thanks again

    I have the FR160, but I have mounted it under the garmin mount. So the computer is on the top of the bracket and the light under the bracket. The FR160 is a great little light.

      Yes, that’s the only thing I forgot to mention. That would eliminate the little extra wobble. Thank you for you for the comment 👍

      What mount do i need if i wish to mount it below the garmin mount ?

    • @Nick-mu9nx
      @Nick-mu9nx 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@dineshnadar5214 well the Garmin mount is designed to hold a battery, if your Garmin has the battery connectivity then the bracket will have the mount for the light.

      Can I use rhe FR160 as my main light at night?

    • @Nick-mu9nx
      @Nick-mu9nx 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@sabertoothmeowsi sadly no, it is designed for others to see you. I have been caught out, miles from home and the dark has beaten me home. The light only lights up the first few feet.

    That extra wobble could easily be taken up with a leather, cardboard, rubber, etc. washer between the light and computer.

    Ordered mine. So few lighting products are USB-C. I feel some heavy discounts coming on from niterider and cygolite as folks refuse to buy micro-usb.

    I have an older ravemen CR450 light, it was on special offer and is really pretty good - 7.5/10. It's not one of these clever ones though, just a normal micro usb one.

    I used to really rate there lights, but last one i bought lost its charge capacity after a few months, was only commuting with it, batteries are non replaceable which is ridiculous. using nightcore br35 now

    I have the PR1600 and recently upgraded to the PR2400 ... The remote works much better that their 1600. An issue with the remote, the rubber O Ring that came with the light is too small, I would rather have a strap for the remote. As far as the battery life goes, that not an issues being my bike is wired with a Backup Power Bank as seen in one of my videos. This is a video of my first ride with the PR2400 comparing it to my PR1600 th-cam.com/video/tmgjPaBqljs/w-d-xo.html

    Bike lights are the most important accessory! Day or Night!! Kids don’t use them.
