How do you spray small letter stencils with the gun? Do you have to turn your pressure way down to avoid over spray ?

We spray Alkyd paints and roll Latex.

Do you have a paint machine for every color? Or do you clean the machine out and do each color separately

We use 2 dedicated machines, white and yellow.

We use Graco equipment. The spray machines are the LL4 3900 series and ride on Line driver HD. www.Graco.com

Can you start this business without the machines ( only using rollers and or spray gun)? What paint do you recommend and how long does it take to dry? Where do you purchase stencils?

Victor, We purchase stencil and paint supplies from our local traffic paint manufacturer here in Massachusetts, Franklin Paint Company. No reason you can't start with a roller and bucket of paint, just takes longer but it is possible. I recommend starting with a machine to paint lines. If you decide not to, you can start with small jobs and use a roller to spread the traffic paint but your customer can complain about quality issues, lines may not be sharp or very straight. You will need a high pressure paint sprayer to stencil.
