the issue at Chelsea is that in the last two seasons the owners have alienated all the big managers so nobody with any credentials will even think of managing such a badly run club. inexperience is the only answer for Todd and his bunch of suits!

Chelsea’s project doesn’t have a big personality in mind and “big” named coaches like to do things their way. The owners are looking to build a system top to bottom. It’s not the standard Chelsea model that was under Abramovich. Just grow pains right now as the rebuild is not complete

One of the craziest appointments ever. Very little on his cv and 10m compensation to get him. Chelsea have the players to challenge for top 4 but owners ensure its one step forward and two steps back. Would love to be wrong of course, but next season will be worse than potter in my opinion.

Let me tell you people why De Zerbi is better than Maresca! Leicester fans hated Maresca’s football because it was so boring and repetitive. He was Sacked by Parma in Italy for one of the worst performances in the first 12 games in the club's history. Most Leicester fans do not worry about seeing him leave. Some are happy. All Brighton fans are so sad to see De Zerbi go. Big clubs bought all his players and they never replaced them. His club was hit with so many injuries to key players as well. This team of Chelsea will challenge for EPL with De Zerbi because the players are quality! He will also win a domestic cup at least. All the players and top managers like Pep and Klopp that De Zerbi plays say he is the finest tactician for the future of football. De Zerbi is better in every way and even the experience of playing in EPL too. Kompany won the championship with more points than Maresca and was relegated in EPL. Chelsea will regret this decision! With Maresca, I don't even see us getting to 8th. Another Potter vibes! In 6 months, he will be sacked again!!

@@Muriithitalksfootball I hope your right. My worry is that what works in the championship might not work in the pl. The PL is a different animal. And has he got the ability to change a system or tactics against teams that will have more control of the ball than us? I don't think he has. Last season they pumped Plymouth 4 nil. The return fixture. Plymouth changed it up and he didn't have the answer. There are a few examples of this towards the back end of the season for Leicester. But as I said I hope am wrong personally I was hoping we would of got Sergio Conceicao. I like his tactics I liked the way he got results against Arsenal in the CL. We need that type of thinking at Chelsea next season. What we don't need is a coach that plays this possession based football against a team like arsenal. "Yes man" is the wrong term. His playing philosophy matches what the sporting directors want so he's their best candidate. As a style of play, it's expected to produce more points and fewer injuries than Poch's high-octane approach. Fewer injuries hopefully also means that players' prices are better protected. Someone said that the directors view the club as a business. Um, yes. That's what directors are supposed to do.

    He’s just passing through folks.
Funny though when Abramovich was running things and you saw a list of potential contenders. The cv’s were overflowing with Champions League, League titles etc.
Fast forward and an outstanding candidate in the eyes of our new owners are he’s not won any major trophies but he did ok at Brighton/ Leicester/ Ipswich and played pretty football.
The mindset like with the player purchases is we are buying potential and that’s not easy to get right.
    I give him 12 months.

It's not about bringing in a "yes man" who will never have any input and just act like a puppet. It's about bringing in a man who will do his job, and that is to coach the team, develop the players, relate to the fans, not spend his spare time watching and scouting South America when he needs to be watching footage from the next opponent. Same reason you don't have a person trainer do nutrition, and massage and rehab. Stick to what you're good at and do a great job at that.
It's the same way City do it with Txiki, Newcastle have done with Ashworth, Liverpool with Edwards, Real Madrid with Perez. It's just United that haven't and let Ten Hag drop 80m on Antony, 80m on Hojlund and 60m on Mount and the rest of money he's wasted on utter garbage.

Arteta is not a elite manager cannot compare him to Ancelotti Guardiola Klopp. If Arteta was really that good Arsenal wouldn't have finished 2nd twice despite being on top of the Table. Struggled against Porto needed penalties to win got knocked out of the Champions League by a poor Bayern Munich team. How many trainee's worked under Guardiola and went on to become elite managers the answer to the question is zero. Leicester City nearly bottled promotion despite being 12 points clear at one stage. Graham Potter did great job at Brighton and Struggled at Chelsea. Ipswich town manager kieran mckenna has done a fantastic job at the club but i still don't think he ready for a club like Chelsea. But definitely a Brentford Brighton and Nottingham forest level. De zerbi probably the best pick. Even the best solution would be to keep pochentino for another season seen what happens. Long-term project are great but you have to focus on short term as well. Club has to set targets every season to reach that goal. Long-term project will not work if you keep sacking managers because they know the owners haven't got a clue how to manage a football club. Chelsea were starting to make progress under pochentino.

You’ve just basically said he has no plan B. Which says to me he’s gonna struggle massive at Chelsea. Hes gonna be up against the best teams in the world with the best managers in the world this isn’t the championship. He’s not coached players with big egos. He’s going to lose the dressing room come January

he isn't a yes man first of all and we have good owners thinking long term, building a foundation. look at the restructuring of the whole club instead of making comparisons to a settled team from the past. these players are together for 12...18 month with injuries that would have knocked arsenal out of the top 4, up to 14 at one stage. take odegard, white, saliba and any other first team player out of their team and it would have damaged their season. poch had that problem at psg so are his methods to blame? next season will tell us a lot more about the investment with players returning that 100% would have started most games and most loan players had very good seasons as well.

You know I really hate comments like this some of the signings or most of the signings don't work like who named the signings. With all the signings that Chelsea did mind you the media overplayed a lot of the youth signings that were never intended to go into the first team immediately what signings are you talking about? Mudryk OK fair what still has time to come good, Caicedo? Casino especially at the end of the season proved that he's an excellent signing and Chelsea only paid what they paid to beat Liverpool people seem to forget that Liverpool are the ones that drove up his price, Enzo? Enzo is Young has a high ceiling and was injured so maybe there's still question marks there but Gusto? Excellent signing one of the best right-backs in the Premier League, Cucurella? Very rough start but at the end of the season man of the match performances over and over mostly everybody else has been either in and out because of injury which they are blaming on pochettino so there's no one that you can point to and say those were bad signings other than the Simon's made under Thomas Tuchel when Tuco was given full power over signings
