I strongly believe that dreamsnaps was the main reason why they changed their minds about the game going free to play. I think dreamsnaps really tanked the moonstone sales and for them to only now do this over a year later is surprising to me. Maybe it took them a bit to figure out what to do without upsetting us too much. I personally am not bothered by it atm, but I won't be getting it either because 30 is just too much for me. I have bought moonstones in the past but only the smaller packs at a time. I also am spending 40 on a sims 4 pack later this month so I just can't fork over 30 on top of that. Maybe if they do this again and I like the item enough I might buy it but idk. We will have to see. I think it's an odd time to be doing this when the dlc is right around the corner. Anyways I love the update so far. The wing gliding is so cool and I love the new photo updates and finally being able to use accessories and tools in photos. I think the star path is pretty good and Timon and Pumba are cute!
I hear you, Zara! I feel like that's a great theory and I agree that they've taken while to work out what they want and how they can charge for it. There's really no FOMO there for me at the moment but that could change depending on what the item is each season. I'm just not sure on it. As you said, with the DLC just around the corner it is a very interesting time to be puling this tactic. I'm with you, though - the update has been a lot of fun! 💜
When we got told yesterday about the moonstone exclusivity I was alright with it but now because of the price I would’ve thought it was gonna be about £10-£20 but no and also as a man this witchy dress doesn’t fit right with me I would’ve love it to be a furniture item that can be used with anyone other then a clothing item that more fit for 1 gender
I was also surprised at the pack it was added to! I think they created a new one just for it. Interestingly there seems no incentive to purchase the most expensive pack any more. But I hear you, I wish they would remember that us male and male-presenting players are part of the game, too! 💜
