I pray (and cry) that you can see that Moshiach arrived as isaiah 53 says Who believes our report? To whom is the arm of Adonai revealed? 2 For before him he grew up like a young plant, like a root out of dry ground. He was not well-formed or especially handsome; we saw him, but his appearance did not attract us. 3 People despised and avoided him, a man of pains, well acquainted with illness. Like someone from whom people turn their faces, he was despised; we did not value him. 4 In fact, it was our diseases he bore, our pains from which he suffered; yet we regarded him as punished, stricken and afflicted by God. 5 But he was wounded because of our crimes, crushed because of our sins; the disciplining that makes us whole fell on him, and by his bruises* we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, went astray; we turned, each one, to his own way; yet Adonai laid on him the guilt of all of us. 7 Though mistreated, he was submissive - he did not open his mouth. Like a lamb led to be slaughtered, like a sheep silent before its shearers, he did not open his mouth. 8 After forcible arrest and sentencing, he was taken away; and none of his generation protested his being cut off from the land of the living for the crimes of my people, who deserved the punishment themselves. 9 He was given a grave among the wicked; in his death he was with a rich man. Although he had done no violence and had said nothing deceptive, 10 yet it pleased Adonai to crush him with illness, to see if he would present himself as a guilt offering. If he does, he will see his offspring; and he will prolong his days; and at his hand Adonai’s desire will be accomplished. 11 After this ordeal, he will see satisfaction. “By his knowing [pain and sacrifice], my righteous servant makes many righteous; it is for their sins that he suffers. 12 Therefore I will assign him a share with the great, he will divide the spoil with the mighty, for having exposed himself to death and being counted among the sinners, while actually bearing the sin of many and interceding for the offenders.”
It's great that Cecelia Margules is still composing songs today for other singers! This is a pretty catchy song, especially for 1990 standards, and Doron Henya, the Shlomo Carlebach lookalike, did a great and compelling job one the video! Eli's voice is always spectacular and on top, no exception here! All in all, a great reproduction!

Truly incredible and so inspirational. This is such a creative idea bringing back a legend from the past like yourself and bringing him into existence today.
I am old enough and fortunate enough to have met and heard Shlomo Carlbach several times and in many venues, large and very small, from the beginning of his career of outreach to everyone from teen groups to the elderly, the observant to the observant. He and the Lubavitcher Rebbe, in my opinion, were the Jews who successfully reached out directly and indirectly to more Jews than anyone, and continue to do so. The feel of the video is of the 1960s...and still contemporary

Did they use original b&w footage of Shlomo Carlbach composited with modern film of Eli Levin singing the same song, or was the whole production staged? In any case, the result is beautiful.
The human voice, the most beautiful instrument of all
Brilliant production!! Emunah is what connects all the generations. Who doesn’t miss Reb Shlomo ztz”l?
I miss him although never got to meet him... I live in the wrong generation...
Probably a lot of the people he hurt.

Singing this from Jerusalem as we prepare for Moshiach. What Divine timing ;)
I pray (and cry) that you can see that Moshiach arrived as isaiah 53 says

To whom is the arm of Adonai revealed?

and by his bruises* we are healed.

הפקה מדהימה, שיר מהמם שהתגלה לאחרונה והופק בימים אלו, נראה אוטנטי לחלוטין.

Just Wow! Great Job Eli
who else was so disappointed when they realised the b&w footage was not genuine historic footage, but a reenactment with an actor?
Wow!! Beautiful!!!

We're all really still singing Carlebach songs?
Sure! Reb Shlome composed the sweetest and deepest songs that we have.
So deep, yet so relatable and easy to learn and sing along...

Phenomenal production although I’m not so overtaken by this song.
Beautiful!
So it was composed by Cecelia and sung by shlomo?
Maybe it was composed by AI of Reb Shlomo created by Cecelia?
@@YaakovWMusic Nope, Shlomo sang it on one of her albums back in 1990. She composed it, he sang it.
