After operating a successful non-medical location, the secret to doing this is "loving" the people that serve them and the people you serve. This is a profitable successful industry if you enjoy the intimacy and love the people. intensity factor. You bring the culture to your community but you have to be ready to serve. This is a very informational video for those of you interested in doing so.

Avoid this business unless you are extremely experienced with the industry...this business gets pounded with lawsuits

I'm currently an in home care provider, and I'm attending college to earn my Bachelors Degree in Health Care Management.
Now, I have never owned a franchise, and don't plan to open one. I do find your channel absolutely fascinating and quite informative. I accidentally found this channel couple weeks ago when I was doing research for a class in Consumer Buying Behavior and another one in Health Care Marketing Basics.
The only thing I'd probably add to this video (or if you do a follow up video) about senior care:
Regardless of franchise-in some states (like mine, Washington State) when you go to open an in home care agency/franchisee-you can quickly get drowned in rules and regulations. Some states very highly regulate what a in home care agency/elder care service can and can't do. My state regulates it as heavily as the check cashing industry is (different in some ways but same in other ways.)
You'll have to deal with insurance companies-both public and private insurance-family members of your clients (who can be a blessing to work with or hell to deal with) training requirements, especially if you offer medical based care. High employee turnover-need to be able to deal with that as well. In my county at least-the more entry level the in home care position is, the higher the employee turnover rate is. That needs to be factored in as well.

Fantastic points thank you for that. 100% correct we have seen many clients struggle with red tape in this industry - fortunately the franchises are able to advise on expected ramp up timelines ahead of time. New York has seemed to be the most difficult in that regard. Most franchises we work with - I would say 95% choose non-medical care - I expect for these exact reasons.

Hi - a very interesting video. Much of this applies to the homecare market within the UK too. Is there a way in which you could provide some specific advice on the UK home market sector and if so how do I reach out to you? Thanks :-)

I'm interested in buying an existing franchise territory with a very successful cash flow. Any thoughts on buying a franchise business that is already up and running successfully?

Did you cover food delivery franchises?

We could in the future. We have had some negative experiences with a couple of them so overall not impressed by what we have seen. If you are currently looking at a certain brand feel free to PM or contact us thru the website.

Anybody here remember Death Race 2000?
Particularly, the scene from the hospital where it's "Euthanasia Day" and the old folks were put out in the streets to get run over, but Instead...
The driver runs down the doctors and nurses.
For some odd reason, I'm reminded of that.
    ...
    ...
    Good movie though.
